seriously winning a grand slam as an 18 years old out of the qualifs, not losing one single set in 10 games, is ridiculous. This is not only impressive, but that's amongst the best performances ever in a grand slam tournament.

Now she gets to inevitably disappoint the public for the rest of her career, like Tim Henman.

Andy Murray doesn't really count because he's Scottish, miserable and unlikeable. He's like a Lewis Hamilton type, we don't like arrogant winners, we want the plucky underdog

Tennis is a silly game

This wasn't even going to be on the telly until she made the final and Channel 4 bought the rights at the last minute, and showed it when Deadpool was meant to be on according to my TV Guide.

Usually anyone only cares when it's Wimbledon, I made this point when arguing with one of my colleagues about how nobody is really a fan of tennis in this country, and Wimbledon only gets attention in the media because it's for poshos. Like how the BBC had been trying to shove women's cricket down our throats recently when nobody even really likes the men's cricket that much

Road closure on my way to work.

Now, typically, they would put up signs, such as ones that say "Road Closed Ahead" and "Detour". Preferably, they would put these signs at the nearby intersections, so people can avoid the closure, rather than having everyone think the road is open then have to make a U-turn.

Nope, not these dipshits.

No one has any idea the road is closed because they put the road closed signs so close to the god damn closure that you're more likely to see the roadblock itself before you can make out the words on the sign, completely defeating the purpose of the signs in the first place.

Also, they typically announce road closures well in advance, to further mitigate the amount of traffic that approaches the closure.

Now, maybe it's an emergency or something, which can completely explain why this road has been closed for at least 24 hours and I haven't seen a single f***ing construction worker.

It's just like the idiocy of leaving up signs when the construction crew isn't working.

"Right lane closed ahead", keep driving, no lane closure.

Yes, let's teach people to question and distrust the construction signs they see. Idiots

Road construction practices are simply the public equivalent of the behaviors my wife & I display traditionally at home ...
Spouse #1: "Why are you doing that?!"
Spouse #2: "Just to aggravate you ... is it working?"
Nothing unusual about them at all.
