I only know the very bare minimum things about coding, so how would one go about getting rid of a memory error? Is that a code based thing, as in parts of the code need fixing somewhere to where it won't run as many things as before? Or is that more towards what it is trying to push to that needs fixing?

Yeah, this one is interesting

Essentially, we use ClickHouse is a reporting database because it's insanely fast at aggregation. So we can have a bunch of tenants (installs of our app in kubernetees, basically) all with different processing databases roll up their data to single clickhouse instance and report on essentially the entire cluster.

I've never seen this error before, but it looks like clickhouse implements a 3.6GB chunk limit on ingestion, and we're exceeding it.

So, IMHO the real problem is why the f*** we're sending just a massive chunk along the pipe. The way this works in our stack is that we have essentially an event bus with a query service and a receiver. Queries get sent on that bus and get picked up by the receiver periodically (like every 2 seconds or something). So whatever we're sending on the query wire is way, way too f***ing large.

Another option would be to increase the clickhouse chunk limits, but that seems like a bad idea. 3.6GB is pretty large I think. We've screwed something up somewhere else.

It's [current year], everyone has a smartphone, yet no one in the crowd or on the sidelines managed to record Derrick Barnes' interception and upload it to Youtube?

You're not the only mother f***er to ever use an office chair on high pile carpet.

Solutions clearly exist but you're lazy and cheap.

May I suggest a vacuum, you dirty ass

Someone throwing an oil tanker at Superman is cool, but Superman dodges it and lets it crash into an entire railyard, causing a massive explosion.

Yeah, that's totally what Superman would do.

Buildings in Gotham destroyed as far as the eye can see, but oh only a few thousand people died, then the storyline of the next movie is focused on Batman getting revenge on Superman for destroying so much of Gotham.

It's such nonsense and Zack doesn't give a shit because it's all just filler until the next god damned slow motion action sequence.
