He's been acting for how many decades, yet now he can't act in a 20 second commercial?

The entire point of the commercial is "Don't believe us actors, you should go try it for yourself", so Steve Martin does a laughably over-the-top reaction, which works perfectly in the context of the commercial.

It makes no sense for Ben Stiller to have a subdued and dry reaction, just for the commercial to tell us to not believe his believable reaction.
