Is there are way to find recently modified files with the caveat that I know they're trying to hide the changes by manipulating the date modified metadata?

Little obnoxious when I have a complex question and Google gives me the most basic, entry-level, useless answer. "To find recently modified files, just search for them."

I can rename this one specific folder and make the software fail to launch.

Yet all of the files in said folder haven't been modified since 2014?

I copy that folder from one computer to another, and it seems like I did nothing at all, but somehow it's required for the program to open.

Also, it seems to use save states or something, as it requires us to power off the virtual equipment in order to "save the files into the application"

Clearly they're manipulating something to make this unnecessarily complicated.

No, you can't just drag and drop the files, you have to open the emulator and "load" the files, despite a big advantage of emulators is being able to put workarounds for stupid necessary shit just like that.
