The only thing that opens the game up more is a bigger ice surface or fewer players on the ice. The skating has just evolved too much.
Coaches always find a way to adapt.

Many European rinks are bigger ice surfaces. Those leagues aren’t really known for their exciting end to end action and high scoring. Even the NHLs 3v3 OT has been slowed down quite bit. Where it’s mostly slower paced keep away hockey. There are some crazy scrambles and end to end rushes. But those things were the norm when it was first introduced.

I think @Push Dr Tracksuit is on to something by punishing the coaches with vicious and repeated jock itch outbreaks.

The more he says organic the less believable it is

Also, from a pure skill pov tage was snubbed but I'd really love to see Zucker on this team. I think he'd be all about it

Pretty sure he is being sarcastic since he already said his brother Miller and him had a group chat saying they wanted to do it.

It was "staged" yes.. but it was real emotion and fit.

Was fantastic

Eichel's all-around game is so cool to watch now. Should have developed like that here.

He was so horrible on that Team North America 9 years ago I remember

Matthews looks way worse than usual today

The officiating in this game is funny too. When McDavid has the puck and canada is 8 feet offside, it's "let em cook lets see what happens"

US is onside on a rush and they blow it dead
I was blown away at Eichel's hustle and intensity. What a hockey stud.

There wasn't any gliding and early turn ups out of the zone from him like in his latter Sabre playing days. It just simply pissed me off that he was a Sabre once and never will be again.

What a f**k up this franchise is. We did NOT win the trade.

Slavin was impressive last night. As was the entire US D corp. But Jake really was dominant.

Slavin was unreal.

Eh, thought Hagel and Parayko both won their boughts - Miller got destroyed IMO - and Bennett's head flopping around as Brady beat on him was a personal moment of joy that had nothing to do with nationalities. I just love seeing Bennett's scummy self getting fed fists.
