Goalies get hot, teams grip the stick too tight, it happens. I agree with the lack of sustained o-zone pressure, I noted that earlier as well, but it got better.

I'm sure they are, but that doesn't sound all that great coming from Rossi who decided not to play in that qualifying because he was busy in the CHL in his draft season, and didn't think Austria would make it through(IIRC they were expect to finish 4th or 5th)

This is the game Austria plays every game. We are always the small, the weakest, and not particularly fast. So we are used to playing the shell.

The multiple posts were part of the problem but if it takes mad goal mouth scrambles for more goals, so be it. Instead, the high danger chances are of the one and done variety. But as others have posted, hopefully, flood gates will now open for the US. Bad puck luck will be all good luck!

You are right about the rule. I just re-watched it a few times in slow motion. #2 kicked the puck and #28 touched it one more time. Thus it's a good goal.

This year's roster seems like a bunch of forwards who can crash the net and use our bodies to create space, but if we're given space due to Austria's defensive scheme or talent disparity, we look kind of lost.

Don't get me wrong. I'm American and want to see USA win. However, I also support hockey growing. While I may want to win the game in the end, I don't mind if Austria does well against us, if that makes any sense to say.
