US announcer assignments for Stanley Cup Playoffs

TNT didn't even bother sending their announcers to Winnipeg. Personally I don't blame them as no one wants to go to Winnipeg. But it is a terrible look for the league.

TNT also never sends the studio crew to cover the conference final. I cannot recall if they sent them to cover the cup final in 2023 or not. ESPN entire crew covers the CF and SCF at the respective cities. Even NHL network sends their entire crew live to both cities.

They did it for Colorado/Edmonton.

NHL Network sends their people everywhere because of they don’t then what are we doing here?

Wait, you won't hear Cuthbert calling Leafs/Sens in the US? We hear the American crews for the American series. I just assumed it was shared.

It really doesn't matter which announcer's doing what games since they doesn't seem to have access to instant replays on anything except goals and fights in the NHL. In any SHL game, any situation on the ice can instantly be talked about because there's usually at least 3 angles in any situation. If it's a dodgy penalty? You can be sure that they will show a bunch of replays of that and the announcers talk about how they view the situation. A missed penalty? Same thing.

When the SHL have higher TV production value than the NHL, there's something very wrong.

Why do the Avs always get stuck listening to clear Avs hater Brian Boucher?
Leah Hextall is objectively better than Brian Boucher. He's so boring and his takes are so trash. I muted when Olczyk and Boucher started discussing how Dallas won the first period, as though the higher seeded team surviving a period on home ice was a victory.

That comment about the Stars surviving the first was so detached from reality. Lol. Boucher likes to comment on the game as he wants it to go, instead of how it’s actually playing out.

Can you imagine NBA or NFL playoff game with remote play-by-play?
Well, no one cares about hockey or even really likes it, and the league's executives are going to start selling sliced fruit out of a cooler on the side of the highway.

Calling the game remotely was a poor decision, but it doesn't amount to anything other than giving people online something to talk about.

I mean it amounts to a significantly worse viewing experience for the fans

John Buccigross, I get that you love hockey, but like... so do I. And I think even *I* could do a better job calling a game than you.

Bucci, made a jab tonight mentioning they are in the arena, no green screen. Later in the broadcast he said they were on their way to Winnipeg for the next game.
