Upside Hockey's 2025 NHL Draft Rankings — Preseason Edition

- finally sprang for our own domain name (vs using URL shorteners - Upside Hockey dot com was indeed available)
- nearly 300 prospects already highlighted in our mammoth rankings spreadsheet with many sheets/tabs to explore as E-Mac continues to build up the database of draft eligibles
- also added a simpler, minimalist 1st round rankings only table (it's just before the main spreadsheet, so keep scrolling if that's the one you want
- lots of videos linked in the mammoth spreadsheet
- all the player names line to Elite Prospects profiles - your one stop shop for the draft!
- any comments, feedback, sharing appreciated

Is Spence an '06 or '07 birthdate? I thought he was '06. You have him as '07. Conflicting?

Upside Hockey's 2025 rankings look solid, but a few names stand out. Benak seems to have stagnated, and his size might be a problem.Spence is a great choice, but is he really top 5? I have my doubts. Ryabkin looks like the best European prospect, maybe even better than Frondell. Time will tell!I agree that some American players like Trethewey and Potter are worth keeping an eye on—they've got top draft potential:)

Benaks size will definitely be a problem.. however, I have to ask, stagnated from what?

Love the Czech tab.. thank you!

Seems about right. Most seem to have Benak and Mrtka in round 1.. I wish we could combine them because they'd both be 6'3 then and still be first rounders.lol

I'm higher on the 3rd round guys but I have a huge bias!lol

I love upsides rankings and that they are now publicish. The founder may or may not be in my sim league and he kills us at the draft every year.

I think the players in the top 8 will all certainly go first round. After that, it’s a total toss up. I wouldn’t be shocked if over half of the players you have listed from 9 and up even go in the first round.

From what I’ve seen so far, I think this draft will have some big fallers and risers. However, I think the constants will be Hagens and Martone at 1 & 2 and Hensler, Misa, McQueen, and Frondell in the top 10.

My take is that Hagens, Martone, Schaefer, Frondell, Ryabkin, Misa, McQueen, and Hensler (my top-8 currently) are highly likely to remain in the top-15 at worst, but outside of that anything can happen. Malcolm Spence is good but has the feel of a 17th overall pick more than a 9th overall pick. The Q is a huge variable this year. Lots of Swedes who could break into the top-10 or fall out of the first round completely.
