Upper Deck Commemorative Box Set

Think the lockout may have had something to do with it? Maybe the NHL/PA had to restrict Upper Deck from releasing merchandise? It's only a guess because I seem to recall the Kings having to cease the release of their commemorative book (and around this time they also removed all images of players from team sites).
 
I had the same question when the Blackhawks set was released and found this:

Just add it to the list of things that the Kings never got along with the multi-disc champions DVD/Blu-ray that all of the other past champions got... The NHL literally stops caring any further west than Colorado.
 
**** like this really pisses me off. Kings do need to win another one though. Sure would piss a lot of people off. That's reason enough to do it alone! :)

But I must say every team should get a DVD or whatever. Produce it in smaller numbers for the less popular teams if need be. I assume they could still make a profit that way.
 
I'm glad you brought this up, OP. I didn't post it myself because I thought no one here would care.

The Kings collector base is very small but they have more elite collectors than 95% of teams. An elite collector is willing to pay thousands for a top Kings players' best cards.

You can see the difference in Beckett...when the Bruins won the Cup, Upper Deck released the Day With The Cup cards and all of the top players were worth $175 to $200. The role players were minimum $100.

The Kings cards are around $100 or less.

There are means of getting the games in very high quality, which I did last year. So in a sense, I've got my own "box set" on my external drive. If the league isn't going to make one, might as well download the games and make your own playlist.
 
well point is i was very disappointed, those box sets look really cool and i am a collector (nothing too crazy) but a nice LA Kings stanley cup set would have been amazing, especially with collector worthy players such as Kopitar, Doughty, and Quick:(

Me too.

But the SP Game Used nets and the Black Diamond Championship Rings are really nice.
 
Being a card collector and Kings fan for almost the same length of time (35 years or so) I have been able to pick up a few of these cards. Have a few that are incoming and I REALLY want to get one of the net cards. Here's a link to my photobucket slide show of some of what I have so far... The pictures do not do the Ring card any justice whatsoever. The one I have is Gagne and it's a thing of beauty.

Yup yup. I've been archiving all kinds of stuff for some time. I pretty much have all the HD feeds from the various networks of all the games. There are still a couple I am missing though. Games 3 and 4 from round 2 against the Blues.

I get that and that's what I did, but it's about the principle!
