Very sad. Great memories of Pav and the Smurfs who derailed the heavily favored Flyers.

Definitely in my personal top 5 Rangers of all time to watch on the ice.

Great offensive instincts combined with a buzzsaw attitude.

Others are Park, Kovalev, Lundqvist, and Goyette.

Edit: I have a feeling Laf might join the group.

Beck is fired up and thinks the NHL and USA Hockey are hiding behind lawyers.

Ted sator, this spinoff from Mike Keenan. Keenan left nyr...and was fired everywhere he went

Ted Sator came in and it was like he didn't want the core of the team from the team before. Larouche--one of the best goal scorers in the NHL is sent to the minors and not even our own AHL team--he's loaned out to f***ing Hershey. Pavelich was a heart and soul player and he's getting benched. That was pretty much Barry Beck's last year---I think he was hurt a lot that year though but he wasn't even 30. I always had the idea he just thought 'f*** this' when the season ended. Ruostalainen goes back to Finland. That was a lot of talent down the drain there. It would be like Mika, Fox, Trouba, Kreider all at once saying see you later and getting no return for any of them.

Sator wanted everyone to know he was the boss. Of all the Rangers coaches since I started following this team in 71-72 he's the one I disliked the most.

Barry lost his son to a murderer. Barry is a very caring and great man

One of my closest friends had a son murdered back in 2009 in Encinitas California. The anniversary for that is tomorrow. He was in the Marines, a hockey player and referee and a Rangers fan. It's a terrible thing and something that he and his wife I don't think will ever get over. I'm sorry that Barry had to go through that too.

If that's true & JD reached out, I'm glad they spoke & cleared the air. Still can't help but wonder how awkward that phone call started off.

His heart is bigger than his body. Nothing wrong for standing up for whats right. And it appears the Rangers and JD did miss the boat.
Everywhere you go, see and hear the NHL is a fraternity. If all it takes is a phone call......well then, he should have been supported. Maybe Beck is right.
But hey, people ARE busy and JD possibly didnt have the right priority here, and was very bad timing. But, John is a good person from what I know and probably wishes he had another chance. A sincere heartfelt apology by JD woukd go a long way. This is truly unfortunate and surely JD is very saddened as well as Bubba.
Also, sorry for your loss Mr. BECK. GODSPEED.
