Why is my first instinct is that this is like the Red Sox offseason where they were "In" on all the star free agents for trying to show a good look but just will screw it all up?

Some folks here will surely know better than me, but I believe that away from the Strip the 'real' Vegas has become a very decent place to live, especially if you've got some money. Not too crowded, good amenities, lots of outdoor stuff to do, low tax. Of course there is the heat but at least it's a dry heat and if you don't mind that then it's probably not much bother.

That said, would love to see Goucher return to Boston. That would be amazing, and he's probably one of the few who could follow Jack without experiencing too much pressure. Feel like it's destined to happen sooner or later. Hopefully sooner.
Can confirm. My uncle lives in Vegas and all the traffic tends to stay on the main strip, the rest of the area is actually surprisingly quiet, at least where he lives anyway which was about 15 minutes away from all of that. As for the heat, its suffocating dry or not. Went out to visit a couple years ago in October and it was 100+ degrees for 5 of the 7 days I was there, fun place to visit but I could never live there.

I lived in Vegas for 4 years and I can confirm that locals go no where near the strip unless they have to. Everything Casino, resturants, movie theaters and clubs are all better and you are with other locals.

Why go to the strip when you are a local? Who wants to hang out with a bunch of tourists.

I can confirm that both Dave Goucher and Shane Hnidy have had discussions with NESN for next year and talks are ongoing.

Vegas local TV is shaky right now as games are now shown on free OTA TV and they have lost the Salt Lake City market starting next year. This all came about when AT&T Sportsnet folded last year.

Everything is fluid right now but if Vegas gets knocked out by Dallas that will be a major financial hit for the team.
very nice

This just made my day, dont f*** it up NESN!!!

I could go on and on about this all day. The amount of resources consumed so that tens of millions of people can own cheap real estate in the desert is going to cost all of us more and more over time. The recent population growth of much of the southwestern United States will be an unsustainable problem sooner rather than later.

But I digress.

Would love to have Goucher back! I still like Brick but I won’t be too broke up about him leaving.
its a problem now, theres no f***ing water for our food anymore.

This would be absolutely incredible, and I will now be incredibly disappointed if it doesn't happen...

If it does happen I hope Brick isn't out of a job (unless he's ready to call it quits too). If he moves to an inside the glass type role as others have said, don't think there's a better scenario.

Hell baby
Now that I’ve seen Goucher and Forslund thrown around I will not settle for anything less (unless we can get AI Jack Edwards circa 2009)
