University Cup 2025

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

That was interference 4th Goal by Ottawa. Alumni sitting next me. Like that shouldn’t count
Not a chance that was interference. Even if there was nobody close to the TMU goalie, there's zero chance he could have got across to make the save. The Gee Gee who was close got shoved from behind. Good goal all the way.

Well done to TMU for grinding out 10+ periods of hockey and never relenting. Impressive performances.

I would like to see TMU win the bronze medal game tomorrow. They’ve lost the OUA conference championship two years in a row. Eliminated in the semifinals at the Nationals two years in a row.

They lost in a heartbreaker to McGill last year
I would like to see the bronze medal game cease to exist…

I may be remembering wrong but didn’t they do away with it for a while? I think it was the organizers in Fredericton (Roger) who wanted to bring it back.

Remember the UNB/Alberta gong show in 2003? I think that’s why it went away for awhile.

Although Dal beat Alberta for bronze in 2004…which seems wild to think about in 2025.

After 2004 I think it went away until the 8 team format came back??

The Bronze was re-introduced when SFX hosted in Halifax, 2015. I don't know when it was last played before that.

I was pretty young for that UNB-Alberta game so at the time I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen lol.

I believe Dal was who eliminated UNB from the playoffs in 2004 as well.

The AUS sweep in 2004. Not to discredit DAL, but UofA came off the loss to UNB Sat night and weren't in the mood for a Bronze game. The next year at Clare Drake the Bronze was dropped.

I believe the Bronze Medal Game is pointless and should be dropped. Nobody goes, there's nothing at stake, and one of the two teams is likely playing its third game in less than 48 hours.

I don't disagree, but having another game means they can charge more for a package. But in 2015 Guelph beat UQTR in OT and they were very excited. The crowds weren't big because Halifax was hit with a series of snow storms, a week apart with the 3rd during the Nationals.
