Max Plante couldn't possibly look more like his old man.
Population size is pretty much irrelevant though. What counts is the number of players and the number of and access to rinks, and Germany doesn't really have lots of those.
While the local hockey teams do have a bit of a pull in larger cities, the biggest draw for hockey is a climate that is fitting for it, meaning cold winters with enough frozen lakes. Germany doesn't really have that anymore, outside of some smaller and not particularly populated regions near the mountains. And those regions tend to be the basis for all winter sports, many of which are quite big in Germany.
Shouldn't be allowed to challenge when the bench is inside the zone.I’d challenge that. German players going off the ice were offside
My personal opinion is that reverse hits are only OK if the person making the hit actually has the puck. The ones where both players are racing to a loose puck are clearly interference.Funny - I have always considered a reverse hit like that to be interference, especially when you are that far from the puck.. Never see it called but these guys called it. I would be fine if that was the standard everywhere.
This is actually a good point. Looking at it now it’s actually closeHe doesn’t touch the puck until a foot into the zone. That could be delayed offside, were they off by the time he touches it?
