What did Danny Nelson do to deserve playing with these two? I feel bad for him having to listen to those two between shifts.
He’s the most responsible/trusted defensive forward so he’s got him with the younger guys. Nelson and Eiserman have the islander connection but neither have been to a camp together so not sure there’s any familiarity.

Hagens is looking good. I think Hensler is really looking like the player I loved last year.

USA’s first line is going to be a nightmare matchup for most teams at this level. I’ll take that line over any line Canada has right now.

Russia sure would’ve had a good team this year.

Is Germany getting better at hockey? It’s the largest country in Western Europe (85 million people), so there’s a ton of potential to add more top talent to the NHL.

Their hockey programs are experiencing some up's and down's but the German's are definitely passionate about hockey. Last season the DEL had the 2nd highest attendance behind only the NHL. DEL2 has the 2nd highest attendance (behind AHL) among 2nd tier leagues, too. DEL arena's are full and loud. There's a lot of potential to unlock there.

Bo knows hockey.

When the good Canada fans ask why Americans post in Canada threads, they should peak here
Lots of fair Canadian posters on this board, as you know.

Unfortunately, this tournament attracts the most insufferable Canadian hockey chauvinists. They are easily tamed with this one weird trick.

I got some push back I feel like Hensler has a strong chance to be a top10 pick.

Population size is pretty much irrelevant though. What counts is the number of players and the number of and access to rinks, and Germany doesn't really have lots of those.

While the local hockey teams do have a bit of a pull in larger cities, the biggest draw for hockey is a climate that is fitting for it, meaning cold winters with enough frozen lakes. Germany doesn't really have that anymore, outside of some smaller and not particularly populated regions near the mountains. And those regions tend to be the basis for all winter sports, many of which are quite big in Germany.

Agreed. Look how small Finland is and they produce a ridiculous amount of hockey players

Funny - I have always considered a reverse hit like that to be interference, especially when you are that far from the puck.. Never see it called but these guys called it. I would be fine if that was the standard everywhere.
