In all seriousness, they're not playing games with him. Evason is going to force him to do what he wants him to.

What a terrible 8 year contract.

Malkin has had a pretty significant history of getting banged up and missing time. He didn’t play a single full season Between 08-09 and 21-22.

Especially in 2010-2011, when he tore his ACL and MCL (the game that he returned from an injury). He vowed to return from his injury and lead the league in scoring and he did exactly that in the 2012 season.
