Jarry feeling good about himself thinking ok I can bounce back and get traded, it's best for all of us, then he comes up and plays behind a shit show and turns into a shit show again and is probably at home like...

Telling himself "I can just go on LTIR, they'll buy me out in the summer, I made enough, farming is more fun anyway..."

Good to see Sullivan and Quinn figured the defensive part of the game out. Really impressive numbers.

In consideration what kind of players Sullivan likes and how successful the PK has been in the last few years it is really shocking to see how bad the Pens are defensively.

Take Karlsson out of that group. He’s going out like he played his entire career, a loser.
What a colossally bad trade by Dubas.

Incredible how he traded a 1st+2nd for EK65 ($40 mil over 4 years) and gave another $54 million to Jarry and Graves, all in his first month with this org.

Idk man, I got tired of ragging on Sully (been doing it for like 5 years now) I'm on the Dubas hate train now.

Man, are we be punked or something? I know all sports fans complain about their coach but this is getting absurd. Im just genuinely confused
Were you not confused when the chairman of FSG came out and said Sullivan was a top-2 coach in the NHL only a month ago?

Sully is the single most protected person in this org besides maybe Sid.

Yeah, I dunno man. The PGTs are so sparse because there's nothing to talk about. Nothing to pick apart.

Oh, Sullivan's line combos and TOI distribution were idiotic? Team defense was a shitshow? Goaltending was shaky or downright bad? Nobody on the Pens could finish their chances? Sullivan said in the post game that he liked a lot of what the team showed tonight, but one breakdown happened and things just got away from them?

Copy and paste every night for the past two-plus years and you've got good odds to be right on the money.

By the TDL, trade Petts. Trade DOC and Bunting if you can. Fire Sullivan on April 18th. Draft your top-5 pick and hope you luck into Martone or Misa somehow. Bring in Sid and Geno and ask them if they want to retire here knowing they're gonna be on tanking teams, or if they want to be dealt to have a chance to compete again before retirement; honor whatever their wish is. Trade Rust, Rakell and EK during the summer. Tank for McKenna. Turn the page. /shrug

The attendance numbers have to be hurting, right?

I honestly have no desire to go. It is not because they are bad, but the team is run, owned and coached by people I have grown to hate.

We have a coach that should have been fired after the covid playoffs, a GM that has no f***ing clue what he is doing and an ownership group that doesnt give a crap.

It's sad and depressing to see the careers of Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Karlson end like this. I sincerely hope for the players, for the fans of Pittsburgh that they are all traded, if possible, for draft picks and good prospects. And traded to Stanley Cup contenders.
Sid, Geno, & Letang got what they wanted. To stay together. So you really think that if/all of them got traded, they would suddenly revert to the players they were 10 years ago? That’s an absurd notion. It wasn’t coaching that made them get old. It was Father Time.

But if they were to trade them, I hope the team would get a decent return so the next era can be built.

Tell me, is it Dubas’ fault he inherited an aging roster that’s in cap hell?

An ownership group that doesn’t care….what a curious way to put it. Did they slip in Bob Nutting when we weren’t looking? They signed these guys to these contracts & then brought in a guy like Karlsson in an attempt to win. How does that equate to not caring?

A lot of these guys have no movement &/or no trade contracts. That means the player controls the scenario, not the GM. Guess who gave them those contracts? It wasn’t Dubas.

I hate to break it to you, this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. And that’s ok. No team wins forever.

Not good and getting worse. 3rd largest decrease in attendance when comparing Nov 2023 to Nov 2024. Looks like 22nd in the league overall this season.

Honestly it’s the lack of hope with me. At least with the X generation I could fool myself and say these prospects will be the future.

We’re not competitive and we’re not really building for the future. It’s hard to watch when there’s no hope or direction.

Pens are 5th from last in points %. SJ, Chicago, Nashville, and Montreal are gonna be tough to out tank. But I believe in our tank commanders Sullivan and Jarry.
We made Columbus look like a good NHL team, and that’s hard to do…so we’re well on our way to bottom two teams…good job, boys!

Nah, most vets that chase a Cup don’t actually get one, and Crosby/Malkin already have three.

Both guys want to retire in a Pittsburgh jersey, and I don’t blame them. They’ve earned that right.

It's essentially because there's not much to really even discuss at this point. The exact same issues crop up every single game, so we can't even talk about "hopefully they improve in this area next game" or "they just need to fix this area next game" because nothing has changed in like 6 or 7 seasons.

Plus, there's no point talking about changing line combos or utilizing so and so in a different role because that's just re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The fact Sullivan basically will never be fired has sapped probably 90% of this forum's interest in the Pens because, what's the point? Part of being an optimist is believing things can change. But if the organization refuses to change the one area that's so f***ing glaringly obvious, then where's the hope?

I basically check after to see if Crosby got any points, and then to see if Sullivan got fired. Wishful thinking, I know.
