You could be onto something there. Seems to me when the NCAA teams visited UNB before they needed a sell-out of the AUC just to come close to breaking even. Probably even more dicey now.Could be that they don't get enough money to come here.
If he is still not able to play, then he doesn't use up a roster slot at UNB. So not really that big a risk. If he can play, then huge upside ...Surprising pick up for UNB. He didn't play a game last year due to concussion issues. A very risky addition. High reward though.
If he is thinking about going to school...I hope UNB is all over Samuel Asselin. He definitely falls in to the category of a “skilled agitator” and has been huge in the last two Memorial Cups...perfect replacement for Boudens.
What’s the story on Peter Abbandonato? Is he looking at the school-route?
Looks like Lauzon is going to Pittsburgh's development camp and still hopes to sign a pro contract.
Zachary Lauzon commits to UNB, still optimistic about future with Penguins
That's why Gardiner calls these recruits "high risk", as sometimes there is a high risk they'll get an AHL contract and UNB is plan B.
Unb swings and misses on Hancock. Not to often UNB misses on elite junior players
In the cause of Lauzon, I could see it working out where he plays 1 season at UNB -- kind of a conditioning/developmental stint -- and then goes to WBS.

Have all been to the AUC, back in 2008-10??
Pending possible pro offer, Harvey would give UNB a very strong 1-2 punch in nets!
