Looks like Gardiner will also be looking for a goaltender (or two) - Mathis Rousseau has committed to Maine and Rudy Guimond has committed to Yale

I believe we are in the market for a goaltender. Here is my rough list of who I found to be likely prospects (I could also be wrong and this list isn't exhaustive). The hard part is knowing if any current Canadian NCAA goaltenders are available (get pushed out and return home).

Lalonde, Ernst, Ruccia and Flores are likely to go NCAA, the others are all pros who might be swayed to attend school. Ungar was a standout at Brock for 1 season, maybe he wants to return to school?

From the NCAA Commitment list, here are the following CHL Goaltenders. Where a school has multiple commitments, the CHL Goaltender is the highest rank (relatively speaking when looking at the leagues of the other goaltenders). So - it's likely they will remain with the NCAA program unless a USHL, BCIHL or similar candidate shines or their current goaltenders are strong.

I'll add Marco Costantini. Played with Colton Kamerrer in Hamilton on the team that went to the Memorial Cup. Bounced a little the last couple of years in the ECHL and Europe. Added bonus, he has a twin brother who plays defense!

Kind of an obvious statement but …If he was 4 inches taller we’d never have been having any of these discussions in the first place.. Kids supremely talented

Funny you post that. I've had discussions with people over the years about a guy and they would say " if he was a better skater or he was a bit bigger he would be awesome ".
I would say "if he was <fill in the blank>, he'd be playing on TV, not at SMU".

Funny, I was just trying to think of my own favourite non-UNB AUS guy…and I honestly don’t think I have one. I can never remember saying to myself “Team A is in town tonight, can’t wait to see Player B play!” Everyone was the enemy lol.

I usually viewed them more as the guys that I wish were playing for UNB lol.
For the most part the only guys I kind of secretly cheered for were guys I crossed paths with playing hockey growing up or went to school with

Similarly…who are some opposing players you just couldn’t stand, whether because they were expert agitators or lit up the scoresheet? I remember that SMU power play circa 2009ish (Rancourt/Fergus/Thornton/Hotham Bros.) scaring the living daylights out of me lol.

Chase Marchand and Anythony Peters both had their fair share of very good games against UNB.

Yeah, they were scary good. Fortunately UNB got a rare win against them in the one game that counted the most.

Incidentally, his baby brother is 4" taller and has a very, very real shot of being a first-rounder next year.
