He also applied for the UNB job twice and only got the job the second time after Murray Nystrom decided not to come… Really wonder how things would have played out in that alternate reality .

I’d never heard anything official on him applying in Moncton but I figured “where there’s smoke there’s fire” since his name seemingly was floating around every time.

Coach Mac also had his name in at Regina in 2000. He almost ended up there had Murray taken too long to change his mind.

Thanks for posting this! Interesting take for sure and whether or not the style can translate to the NHL.

Things sure do move fast. A year ago I think many of us were thinking he could never possibly leave UNB!
