Jones jumped right from NCAA hockey to the NHL. No offseason prep, no pre season, nothing. That in and of itself is not easy.

Theres really nothing that can be taken away from his performance yet other than the fact that he didn't look completely overmatched against the Flyers who have an offense that is at least formidable.

He's almost certainly going to need extended AHL time next year, but nothings really jumped off the screen in his "lack of preparedness." Looks like a guy who can play at this level on the regular pretty soon to me, even if it won't be here.

i haven’t seen him looking mismatched. i saw him against hayes and he did well with what he has, leveraged his stick and core. not going to say he’s ideal at his current build but i’m honestly not seeing mismatched

I noticed it a few times against larger Flyers. But I used to say the same stuff watching Pionk's first season or two, so you never know.

He will need AHL time only if he struggles in NHL...

He currently might be showcased for a draft day trade.
