What’s hilarious is that an old ass Talbot has a better save % than Skinner. Our team is excellent offensively and relatively well defensively yet our goalies are the Achilles heel. Upgrade that f***ing net.

Talbot is actually a good goalie. Always has been. I would take him back even now no questions asked. He had one bad season here and the management group handed the team over to Koskinen like a bunch of goofs.

Sportsnet Central had a stat posted and it had Skinner with one of the worst save % in the league in the first period! This screams to get a goalie by the trade deadline

And then the media ran Koskinen out of town. Meanwhile dogshit good ol Canadian boy in Skinner sieves on a regular basis, and it’s been crickets from the media morons until now. Thank God Bob said what he said. If I’d have to hear one more f***ing time about the oilers not having a problem in goaltending, I’d be drowning in liquor.

Yep, this one. He’s f***ing shit.

Koskinen had the infamous frying pan, but he played behind a much more porous defense and I seem to recall he stole more games than this fraud ever did

Honestly might be the most overrated goalie to ever play for this team

It's honestly amazing they keep fighting back, that type of number would break a lot of teams always having to come back.

This is the best defense / systems the team has had in those 30 years. Surely a goalie can do better than the pile of mediocrity they get out of these two?
Is it? I remember the '06 team being very stingy at the top of its game. And the depth was a big part of its success over the long term. Even last season, that roster doesn't get past Dallas without the PK going gangbusters.

I don't think this team is playing at the level it did in the playoffs last season. And i think that it's lacking that youthful exuberance that Broberg, Holloway, McLeod and Foegele provided at different points.

The goaltending isn't necessarily something that's going to fix itself by throwing another guy in the role. Even if you throw all your eggs into that one basket.

Skinner makes me miss watching DOD goalies in net like Viktor fricken Fasth.

They shouldn’t have to keep fighting back with this sieve in net. It’s a recipe for disaster. No excuses for Skinner.

only caught bits and pieces of the game but rough way to go into the long break
Skinner need to be better as per usual
Bouchard dumb as always
McDavid not as sharp as needed, can't wait for this stupid 4 Nations to be over

Oilers will still win the division IMO but have to stew until the end of Feb

One bad season is all it takes. Especially when that one season contains a dozen games where the guy lets in the first shot of the game.

I’d rather give it a f***ing shot rather than do the same old rotten egg routine of a goaltender in Skinner.

Even without the former players you mentioned, the Oilers are still a top tier team.

And yet this is probably the best record the team has had at this point of a season since like 1987 or something.

Broberg and Holloway gone are Jackson's fault.

We've also played a shit ton more hockey this year due to this 4 Nations Tournament needing extra time.

This season we've played 55 games through Feb 7th, last year we hadn't played our 55th game until Feb. 24th ... that's like a 2 week difference of missing rest, on top of the fact that we're coming off a Cup Finals that went well into June last year on top of that.

The only way the Oilers play the avs is if its in the first round.

The avs are like the oilers used to be, a 1 line team.

Get a competent goalie and they arent a worry at all.
The fact that they can come back against teams like the Avs and Leafs gives me hope at least !! :dunno:

How about Saros from Nashville? Signed to a long and expensive contract but having an awful season there. Stu + for Jusse ?
