Same thing applied to his buddy goalie coach who ruins every goalie that’s been here.

It's not just his stride which has been off. His puckhandling is worse too, and even his decision making when he has it has been frankly poor at times. Has not looked the same for a couple of seasons now, no idea what it is.

His decision making has been fine up until this season where he’s throwing away pucks at an alarming rate.

I think part of that is he’s used to generating more separation with his agility and edge work, so he’s accustomed to having more time and space to make plays. The other part is his linemates aren’t getting open for him at all this year.

He's a career AHL starter / NHL backup. When he was plugged in during some crucial moments in the playoffs, he did just fine. Could they find a better backup? Yeah sure, maybe. But the issue isn't him, for his role on this roster.

Top players don't have increasing point totals every single year, like what how do you think this works? You fluctuate a bit up and down.

The regular season is kind of boring, we're going to finish around the same 104-110-ish point range we always do. Any higher than that is likely restricted by Skinner/Pickard being a lower tier tandem.

So there's no intrigue there.

Individually? McDavid has won every meaningful trophy the league can offer, shit he's even won the Conn Smythe trophy now. There's nothing there that interests him.

Yes he is probably focused on saving something for the playoffs and he's earned the right to do that.

Turning the puck over constantly is saving energy? Never improving defensively is accomplishing everything?

If he isnt interested in playing hockey for 90% of the year he should f***ing retire. If that is his attitude, he will never win shit. Crosby with multiple cups, and every award still goes out and wills his team to regular season victories, trying to drag them to the playoffs.
