Saw Khabib's post on Instagram. He's not really wrong. So bad ass when he wrote "you say I start it, but I just finish what he started" or whatever he wrote lol.
I like Khabib more and more every day. Absolutely loved this comment because it is 100% true. Not only is all of this Conor's fault, but some of this falls on Dana because he's allowed Conor to damn near run the place. It's all gone to Conor's head, and it's led to his behavior getting way out of line. Conor wanted to run around like he was the baddest dude around, insulting anyone and everyone as if he was untouchable, and Khabib put an end to that in devastating fashion.

Couldn't it be argued that once the fight is over, Khabib is no longer under the jurisdiction of the NAC?

No. Khabib and Conor are both licensed under NSAC so they have to follow the rules.

It does mean that NSAC can't do anything against any of the others involved if they aren't licensed, though. Just like how Conor didn't face any discipline for the bus incident.

Blaming Dana White is such a lame copout - these are adults that are supposed to be professional.

Khabib and Conor both take their share of the blame here, and that's what I took from Khabib's comments. It's funny how even when the person actually involved (Khabib) takes his share of the blame, people still want to blame a 3rd party (White) instead.

It was exactly how Khabib stated it - Conor started it, Khabib finished it.

Khabib finished it in the cage. He then started something else immediately afterwards

I couldn't tell you how that affects rules, as he was still in the ring, with officials and police officers hired to officiate and keep order, forced to clean the created mess up.

Well, no. He won his fight, then promptly left the octagon

Let's be fair. Conor swung at him first.

This was a big mess and stupid, but Conor throwing the dolly at the bus was worse.

I'm not really into the blame game when both sides are clearly at fault for this mess. As for the "he punched him first" stuff, some people are getting on Chael for his comments but I agree with him.

This is great. Totally agree with Chael on the Khabib/Conor stuff, and also how weak the fighters/champs/fans have become. Probably just where we are at in society.

yeah, I was a huge Conor fan, but the build up to the fight made me really, really like Khabib and I got so annoyed with Conor for the longest time that it felt really good to see him get mauled like that. Khabib comes out of this looking like a million bucks, he's a mega star for the sport and had so many eyes on him, his star has grown overnight since he beat Conor and he's an undefeated beast who has this aura that Tyson had around him of being the baddest man on the planet atm.

I hope things get cleared up soon and Khabib can fight Tony. If Khabib wins that he goes down as one of the GOATs if he isn't in that conversation already imo.

all in all, I'm just really happy that things worked out the way they did, and I'm happy with the way Khabib is responding. I thought maybe Conor would have come down a peg or two and been more palatable after the domination he endured in the fight, but then a few hours later he's out there tweeting about how he lost the match but they won the battle or some shit? I dunno, probably drunk off his whiskey again when tweeting that.

it's crazy but I respect McGregor a lot now

he got his ass beat and had more to lose taking this fight so huge respect for not dodging Khabib like Mayweather did Pacquiao in his prime

I like Dana a lot, but he's given Conor a pass on quite a bit. And I completely understand why, Conor is their biggest moneymaker by a landslide. Dealing with Conor is like dealing with a child. The child almost tests you to see how much he can get away with. Conor has learned he can essentially get away with anything, and I think that has contributed to him becoming a caricature of himself. No question the overwhelming bulk of the blame falls on first Conor, and then Khabib.

Chael is one of the few people in MMA that calls it like he sees it every time. Doesn't matter if it's the unpopular view or not. He's absolutely spot on here. If people think that Tukhugov was going in the cage for any other reason than to fight, I don't know what to tell you.

It's not about bluffing, it's just all meaningless talk from each side. I'm not even sure if Khabib is aware that it's NSAC that withholds his money, not the UFC.

Khabib will get fined around $250,000 when NSAC does their meeting in November and he'll get the rest of the money. His teammates involved will get suspended for awhile and then fight on some UFC undercards when they are back. Khabib will fight again and make a ton of money and everyone will be happy.
Bingo.

Although, I believe NSAC only can withhold the purse. The UFC has control on the PPV money. I imagine Khabib has PPV points and I imagine the UFC will/already has paid him that money.

Yeah, Dana might be stuck between a rock and a hard place if Conor demands that guy’s release.
No chance. If Conor wanted to be petty, he would have pressed charges against those guys, but he didn't. He knows he's at fault, too. He also knows he would lose a lot of fans and a lot of respect from a lot of people if he demanded that. Especially after all the stuff he's done.

The one thing I have to be careful with about Chael is that he's just so convincing with how he speaks and I just end up believing everything he says regardless of if it's true or not.

He's the cult of personality personified. Just comes across as so knowledgeable and passionate, that he sounds so believable.

Like that story he told of Wanderlei feeding a carrot to a bus in Brazil and petting it.

EDIT: it was the Nogueira brothers not Wanderlei. Still though lmao

Biggest one for me happened recently, with Chael criticizing Rogan for basically breaking kayfabe on Covington.
