2 years shouldn't be a deterrent, but 3+ will be.

Podkolzin has said he wants to stay in Russia until he's ready to make an impact. At no time has he said he wants to stay longer than 2 years.

Holmstrom is a guy that a team like the Rangers could take a chance on since they have multiple picks at their disposal. Some have said he's a top-10 talent had he not been battling so many injuries. The concussion is a concern but there's no doubting that he's a very talented kid. I haven't seen a ton of tape on him but what I have seen has left me very impressed. Particularly with his edge work and ability to draw defenders to him while hitting an open man with a slick pass. A little bit Marner-esque.
