This Hagens vs McKenna became the battle I wanted to see between Bedard vs Michkov but never did get to see. Who knew! These two are nothing but elite. They are Hughes and MacKinnon level- or potential. Bedard and Michkov etc.
LaFreniere was never this spectacular in any single way.

Jesus, George!

Looks like how Saros and UPL came up big time in the semis and finals for Finland at the WJC's back in the day. Sheesh!

This IIHF under 18 tourny pretty much a USNTDP under 18 tournament than Hockey Canada tournament since the USNTDP have played together for most of the year while the Canadian players are made up of players from teams that have been eliminated from their respective junior hockey leagues playoffs. You could tell by the way that USA is outplaying Canada even in the shots on goal right now. If it wasn't for Canadian goalie Carter George, the USA would have blown out Canada now.

Carter George being absolutely fantastic. Mckenna is the most skilled player on the ice even though he's almost born in 2008, but he needs to learn to rely on things other than his skill. I have a couple times in mind where he tried to dangle 3-4 guys and he shouldn't have.

Team USA is just better, I don't know is it's the player themselves or the fact they have chemistry. I really like Mooney, small, but high in energy, fast, never stop working, a Brendon Gallagher type player.

When's the last time we can say a Canadian goaltender is saving the day?

That's the only positive I can take from this game so far, Well that and that it is still a one goal game somehow.
They just mentioned on RDS that when these two teams played in the gold medal game in 2013 the USA outshot Canada 35-12 but Phillipe Desrosiers was impérial as they put it
