WJC: U18 Division 2A and 2B 2025.

GB's shutout streak goes on for the 4th game. Crazy.

They don't play easy games by any means and it's not just score effects. Today, for example, with the score still 0-0, Romania outshot them 19-9 in the 2nd period only to concede a back-breaking goal against the run of play with 26 seconds left on the clock.

I'll chalk it down to random variance and the forward crop of this tier being worse than usual. 4 shutouts in a row at any level is impressive though.

I took a quick look around and the tournament record at the 2A level is 4 goals allowed by Poland in 2019. Unless Italy lights up GB pretty good, it is bound to fall.

This Croatian team is probably the worst team ever in history of D2A to re-claim it's status for next year.

Croatia 6-2 Netherlands

The Netherlands lose their third straight game having outshot their opponents and as a result are relegated to II B.

Croatia secures II A for one more year!

And with a very young team. Nothing more can you ask from it, good job from the players and the coaches.

Condolences to @bv29

Nothing to be excited about, every upcoming generations is worse and worse, so we will eventually fight for survival in D2B....

Lost to Romania 3:2 in OT. Considering the overall talent, or the lack of, of this team this result (6 pts from 5 games) is overachieving at it's finest.

Maybe it's just your lack of understanding the game, as you keep on heavily missing the predictions regarding Croatian teams?

Nevertheless, don't be sad. You can again hope for Croatian relegation next year.

Bronze for newly promoted China after they complete the Netherlands' miserable tournament handing them their fifth loss out of 5.

GB v Italy just getting underway, and whilst I'm pleased we've managed to actually make this game an effective final, it would still take something special here to win...

Why are you so evil and hostile towards me ? I never said I hope, only made predictions based on long-time following our hockey. This is very weak team, with few exceptions - Idzan, Jagatic, Slade, Alic and I'll throw in Krmpotic as well, if anyone besides aforementioned ever gets close to men's NT we are in big trouble...

Please, no need for disingenuous theatrics.

We can see your comments and genuine hate towards Croatia, day in, day out.

After Alfie Blakely had made 99 saves in the tournament so far, shot #100 is the one that finally beats him. Italy 1-0 halfway through the 2nd period.

Edit:
And understandably feeling a bit deflated losing that record (which I should add included spending about 20 seconds guarding a powerplay without a stick!), in go shots #102 and #103 as Italy score 3 goals in about 2 minutes. Capps scores late in the period to make it 3-1 and restore a glimmer of hope.

Italy 4-2 GB at the final buzzer, a brave effort but ultimately not enough, though of course our goalies can both hold their heads high (Blakeley still finished with a save ratio of .966) combining to equal the record for fewest team goals conceded for a 5-game U18 tournament, even though our forwards were a bit more muted than expected.

Good effort by GB but yeah, finished as expected. Being promoted over Japan won't be an easy task either... I get a feeling staying in 1B is an easier task than winning 2A, somehow.
