Prospect Info: Tyson Jugnauth (Round 4, Pick #100, 2022 draft)

Jugnauth has supposedly signed his ELC. Weird, that I am unable to find any official announcements about this. Only real source I see this in is Puckpedia and Capwages showing that he has signed it.

Sportsnet in Canada reported it today. If he progresses and makes it to the NHL that’s an impressive outcome for a fourth round pick.

Even as an over-ager, some of the plays he made this past season were unreal. Hoping he's a later bloomer that can carve out a career as a puck-moving, great skating d-man.

I think he's got a couple years in the AHL regardless though as he's going to need time to adjust to the bigger, stronger bodies of the pros.

He really need to improve his defensive game if he has any shot at the NHL level.

Of course, but he can hopefully gain much of that through coaching. He's never going to be a shutdown d-man, but you need to give him a good look with the offensive skills he possesses.

Agreed. He has a long road ahead of him with other players in front of him.

I had the impression that Portland let him attack at will, especially this past season. I don't think he has some inability to play defense, we'll see how he responds to different and more structured usage. A couple of years in CV will do him some good.
