Now that we know that Toffoli is officially on the market and won't be signing an extension in Calgary what would it take to bring him home?

He's one of Treliving's guys, Treliving brought Toffoli to Calgary and it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to bring Toffoli to Toronto.

After all Leafs do have to replace at least one of Kerdoot or Bunting.

I think he'd be a great fit with Matthews and Marner

I'm assuming the 28th overall pick would be included in any deal.

1st and the best prospect they can get. Might be a better prospect then I expect if multiple teams want him

I don't disagree, they don't have a 2nd but they have lots of equivalent prospects.

This thread has been surprisingly reasonable
Lindholm and Hanifin will be the spicy ones lol. Backlund, Tanev, and Toffoli will all get decent returns but I don't think any Flames fans are expecting anything wild for them.

He's also a guy acquired by Mark Bergevin in Montreal, who the leafs also apparently interviewed for the job. The cherry on top is he's also a Jim Benning guy from being acquired in Vancouver.

On a serious note though I like toffoli and want him to succeed, so I don't think this would be a good fit.

Hard to argue about Toffoli. He's exactly what you think he is.

Expiring vet that can put pucks in the net at a reasonable price. That's a first to a first plus a second

Well they don't have a 2nd but I'm sure they have more than enough prospects to make up for it.

I'm not sure what Tanev gets because of his age and he has some hard Miles on his body.

Yeah, I think they might hold on to him and shut him down early before the deadline. He is the kind of Dman that gets overpaid for at the deadline. No clue in the offseason though.

Honestly we could have replaced Kerfoot with the current roster form last year. Bunting lost his spot to Knies. Kerfoot lost to his spot to potentially 3 guys.

Value on Toffoli is pretty easy to gauge. He's worth a late 1st and a 2nd/3rd. Equivalent prospects could be subbed, but that's where these things get contentious. Easier to agree on pick value. A guy like Backlund is much harder to gauge for value. It wouldn't shock me if he went for more than Toffoli or as little as a 2nd and 3rd.

I agree with this in reality but it blows my mind. Backlund is a significantly more important player to any playoff team than Toffoli. But ya, goals get overvalued.

I’m good with Toffoli. Include him in a Hanifin deal. I’m all about going for it when you have a Cup window. Deal with any fallout later.

Look at some of the stupid things Vegas has done. So you have to take the good with the bad, when you have an aggressive manager. Most fans would kill to have their team be that aggressive. If you breakdown what Vegas actually gave up for Max Pacioretty, just to give him away, it’s insane. There’s another player they should look at btw.

So if it’s Nylander, a 1st and a 2nd for Hanifin and Toffoli, I don’t think too many people will be complaining. They’d be a much better team in the playoffs.

Would rather trade for a C or D.
Do not need another Winger right away.

Agreed. I think whoever gets Backlund will be shocked by how much impact he has on their team. If I'm the Avs for instance I'm skipping the pricey option in Lindholm and going for Backlund for cheaper.

Ya if Toffoli went to the Leafs and Backlund to the Avs for similar returns. I 100% guarantee you Leafs are going to think they got the wrong guy.

Lets upgrade our stacked top 6 and let Jarnkrok anchor the bottom six
