I'll admit, my first thought was that it was a fitness challenge, like seeing how long he could keep his arms extended while holding it, or something.

Boy was I wrong.

See I thought they were going to have to stand or keep their hands in the bucket for a specific time period. Didn't realize it was going to be just ice water dumped on them. Sure it's cold but there's not much to endure.

The ice bucket challange should be balancing the bucket full of ice water on your head for 15 minutes.

I mean if we're going to call it a challange, make it tough.

Maybe not one hour but I would still like to get paid. My point is, going to an event to sign stuff there is no shame in taking pay for it.

Yeah I get what you're saying, but I'm guessing that whatever he'd be paid by the store/Stars for one hour would be negligible compared to his annual salary.

Well supposedly him and Benn (Benn used to sign before this year) skip out on signing at practice, so I completely disagree that he should come away with money for an hour of signing. Too many athletes forget that they wouldn't be making the money they do if it weren't for the fans of the sport.

Nah they shouldn't need to do that for free, what they are making is completely irrelevant. That the fans pay to see them play is nothing they control, it's the fans choice. Obviously it would be nice of them to do that for free but they have no moral obligation to do so.

I'm of the opinion that their only job is what they do on the ice and everything they do for the fans off of it is a bonus. I know that if I was a player I wouldn't want to do any signings no matter how much money I might be paid for them. Not all players are comfortable in that setting and they don't have to be. Fans aren't actually entitled to anything from players

I mean yes and no. Sure, you want to be a good NHL team and whatnot and you're right that's what they're payed for. That being said, the Stars could use the publicity across Texas at this point.

Great content already coming out:

You held a party to welcome the team and watch a football game last week, was that part of being more comfortable?

“Yeah, that was great. I couldn’t have done that last year, because I didn’t know guys, but it was something that came together pretty easily, and something I think we want to do more of. We have a tight group, and I think that makes a difference (on the ice).”

Do you feel like you have a strong leadership role on the team?

“Yeah, definitely. Whether you have a letter or not doesn’t make a difference. I think you can have young guys who are leaders and more experienced guys who are leaders. I’m a young guy, but I think I have a lot of experience and that helps.”
