Sabres' Myers to have hearing Monday

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday afternoon for a hit on New Jersey Devils center Dainius Zubrus on Saturday night at First Niagara Center.

Myers received a two-minute minor for an illegal check to the head of Zubrus at 7:02 of the third period. Zubrus remained in the game.

The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Yeah, hit him into the net and we scored on the PP.

As for the hit i'd say 2-5 games, most likely 2 or 3.

Myers's history is irrelevant. He doesn't have repeat offender status. His last offense was over 18 months ago.

He was skating like a complete idiot, I've seen 13 year old skate better. He's going up against a 6"8 defensman with his head down against the boards... Obviously he's gonna get destroyed, the elbow was a height thing but the jump imo is what might get him suspended

and because it's a hit (via check) to the head. Hits to the head are ok if they are with a stick, as is hits anywhere else (slashing is good!)
