I can't vote as I don't know who Albert Johannson is. And I suspect many fans of Johannson's team don't know who Tyler Kleven is. But I'm interested in finding out.

Two great players that I was always wondering how they stacked up against each other since they were teenage prodigies.

The great tyler kleven vs the amazing Albert Johansson.

Thank you for setting this up!

I picked Johansson as in a vacuum he probably brings a little more to the table but I wouldn't be surprised if Kleven ends up playing more NHL games due to his size but he would need to develop into a SH specialist at least in order to do so.

Yeah, I currently give Johansson a slight edge, he's a smarter player. But Kleven is a massive player that's a strong skater. It's an element that people simply cannot teach, and I think he has a higher ceiling as a result. It's very close to tell.

I know Albert Johansson because I once picked him up in like NHL 24 to be a bottom pairing dman, he was an ok #6 who played like ~15:00 with no real offence or stellar defence.

Klevin I thought was a bust but from a quick stats check he’s actually similar to what I described Albert to be

I’ll take the guy who helped my team win like the 2030 cup on a video game.

I think they're a bit different if that's how you describe Johansson.

If Johansson is your boring #6 with no real strength or weakness, I would think that's more what JBD used to be for us.

With kleven, he has the size, speed, and strength to make these really nice plays or hits, but then also seems to be still trying to figure out the NHL speed in terms of decision making.

So he seems to have more highs and more lows than Johansson...more boom/bust.

If kleven figures out the mental part, I see him as a full on second pair D Man similar to Marc Methot.

But if he doesn't figure it out, he'll make big mistakes here and there...cough up the puck...put himself out of position for a big hit...maybe take a dumb penalty...etc.

So I think it's safe(Johansson) vs boom/busy (kleven)
