What does TB have in the way of solid LW,that can play in the top 6 .And that they would be willing to move??

Make nylander a winger.

more C depth isn't terrible and you could trade kadri for a RHD.

Killorn's the most likely and Palat's another (less likely) possibility. I hate to lose either but we're almost certainly going to have to give up one of Killer, Palat or Johnson for cap reasons. There are arguments for and against all three of them:

- Johnson when healthy is essentially our #1C in everything but name, has been big in the playoffs, and has excellent chemistry with Kucherov, but he's also had injury issues, would bring back the greatest return, and has what is looking like a good potential replacement in Point
- Palat's skill set is the most rare on the team and he has a way of elevating everyone he plays with, but he hasn't been particularly outstanding in the postseason
- Killorn steps up his game big time in the postseason and he's cheaper than Palat will likely be, but he hasn't been as effective in the regular season and doesn't have Palat's knack for making his linemates better

There's no overwhelming consensus on the Lightning board as to who stays and who goes, but I think the majority are leaning toward Killorn being the odd man out at the moment. Ultimately I think it's going to come down to how all three of them perform this season/postseason, what Johnson's and Palat's salary demands are next summer, and what the rest of our cap situation looks like (particularly with regard to Kucherov and Drouin.)

Welp. Guess we can put this one to bed.

TB's cap crunch just got a lot less crunchy.

Oh, you're more than welcome to take him off our hands. I see him more as a third liner who can step up to the second line in a pinch, though (he still has the skills to play in the top six but an incredibly frustrating refusal to shoot the damn puck which limits his offensive production.)

What about a LTIR deal, iam of the belief that Mac will probably not play hockey again .And will likely remain on LTIR for the remander of his contract ,money is pretty much a match .You gain 5 mil in cap we gain Filppula a player than can play .Sound fair ??

We definitely can if Yzerman is able to convince TJ to sign to a 5-6M deal. If it's over 6M, I'd still probably cut my loss and see what can be had for him.

Depends on the year he has. Would anyone be surprised if (now that he's healthy) he overtakes stamkos as the 1c again?

If indeed we use killorn as Vegas bait, we have a lot of money coming off the books next year.

Biggest mistake Chuck Fletcher ever made was sending Tyler Johnson back to juniors for his over aged year without signing him after he got hurt in the prospects tournament. How different would the Wild look now with him centering Parise and Coyle.
