The NHL and Players Association agreed not to have a vaccine mandate, but teams can suspend without pay players who are cannot participate in club activities because they are not vaccinated. Coach Jeff Blashill said the Wings "would keep it internally" whether Bertuzzi has been suspended.

Suspended without pay for not taking the Jab

“I tell ya Governments putting a microchip in that vaccine”

First game Bertuzzi chose not to participate in his team gets whacked 6-1. Gee. I am shocked.

One of their leaders has quit on them and it’s pretty apparent the way they feel about it.

What's funny is that Bertuzzi is literally the only active player in the NHL who is unvaccinated.

It's literally just him.

I think Blackwood still is as well. The way Eliotte phrased it makes it seem like he’s getting it soon and will be by the time we go to Canada at the start of December. Seems solid but I’ll believe it when it’s done considering last time he literally got up when he was in the chair about to get it

I know Josh Archibald is technically not "active", but he has also refused vaccination.

Are there any other in-active, but truly roster players if they were available, who are not vaccinated?

Imagine what kind of message this sends to your teammates.

"There have been billions of people vaccinated in the world and only a small fraction of them have had any sort of serious side effects from the vaccine, but I'm going to believe the conspiracy theory I saw on facebook to rationalize not getting the vaccine and actively hurt my team because of it"

Your "right to choose" is actively hurting everyone else around you. I have no clue how anyone can think they're being anything but insanely selfish with that kind of mindset.

Nope, Blackwood got vaccinated a few days ago I believe.

Report: Devils' Blackwood vaccinated, to be cleared by December

Yeah, the 4 I knew of were Rinaldo, Archibald, Bertuzzi and Blackwood. Blackwood got vaccinated, Archibald is out for the year and Rinaldo isn't in the NHL anymore, so technically Bertuzzi is the only active player who isn't vaccinated.

Is he like really scared of needles or something? Should just have his mom hold his hand. Worked for me when I was 5.

The article OP is quoting is talking about yesterday's game, when Bertuzzi could not participate with the team because they played in Canada.

As in, Detroit could have suspended him without pay for yesterday, specifically.
