OT: Two best Leaf goalies since 1970?

Joseph and Belfour

Potvin, although he had good numbers and a very good streak, did have the best D in front of him between the three, and could not be put on the same level in terms of overall skill.

Big drop off after that unfortunately.

I wasn't watching during the Potvin era so I missed that.

Cujo for sure, and because I didn't witness Potvin the next is Belfour for me.

So it's Joseph and Potvin in some order of 1 and 2 going by the responses in here.

I mean, it certainly wasn't Toskala, The Monster (was this the nickname?), Optimus Reim, or Nelson Mandella.

I placed too much emphasis on longevity and how the team fared in the playoffs. It should actually be Belfour and Joseph. Potvin and Andersen would be next up for me.

I still remember when Palmateer got traded. He had more points than Picard the D-man we got for him if I remember correctly.
 
Eddie and Cujo.

Honourable mention to Reimer. His favourite goalie (as well as mine) growing up was Eddie and he told me (and reiterated) he wanted to emulate his style of play because it was like the puck always hit him in the chest because he was usually positionally very square to the puck.
 
Roberto Luongo - oh wait we traded that pick away for a prayer.

Tukka Rask - oh wait we traded that prospect away for rubbish.

Could of been counting our Vezina's if we hadn't employed so many muppets for GM.

How lonely, could anyone be, if they chose this journey, or job.

phil esposito and tony esposito, both top 100 players of all time. U think they talked any hockey.

Goaltending. Crazy position.

Still not appreciated, cept for sages like Don Cherry.

If our goalie is strong, Nylander tries hard.

How will we do in the playoffs. That is up to jack campbell.

Gotta say, he has a Hollywood, kinda name.

If he is solid, we could really do some damage.

Jack Campbell has a classic hockey 50s-60s vibe to his name. Like King Clancy etc. Hopefully one day I can mention him alongside Belfour as one of our best ever.
