OT: TV Movie Thread Part Iii

Really? I loved Fletch! I didn't even know it was a book before the movie.
There were at least 10 in the series.
The books were closer to murder mysteries (in the Sam Spade/Mike Hammer mold).....don't know why they decided to change it to a comedy when they made the first film.

There are very few shows I’ve been as invested in as Succession. It’s a top 5 all time show for me. I wish I could forget the whole series and watch it again.

Enjoyed Sinners. It's a fresh type of a vampire movie, there are a few inventive wrinkles, but not really a horror flick.

Anyone watch Motorheads? Its not as good as Outerbanks so far but I'm a car guy so I like it.

They should be punished for the mods they did on that RX7 😠🙁😭

Got on the television an episode of TJ Hooker. Guest stars are quintessential 80s character actors Gary Graham and Alan Stock. Heather Locklear is very endearing. @80s Kid

I'm finishing S2 of The Last of Us. Compared to other recent shows based on games - I liked this one the least.

Saw episode 1 of Sirens and IMO it has a potential. The family here makes Friends and Family group feel like middle class chumps.

Watching Downton Abbey currently (finished season 1) and Jessica Jones (almost through season 2). Both are worth your time and, obviously, for decidedly different reasons.
I really liked Jessica Jones! Word is it may be coming back.

Have to admit a new guilty pleasure: Destination X, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan aka Negan.

If you enjoy Downton Abbey then you’ll like Gilded Age about NY high society around the same time.

I loved 28 Years Later. Big fan of the first 2. This wasn't like either one. Danny Boyle adds his unique touch and special vision to make it a work of art.

It was a long wait and it was definitely worth it. Look forward to the next one (coming out in January plus a third film) and the return of Jim (Cillian Murphy).

Interesting to read the reviews from the top critics (mostly glowing - "best horror movie of the past decade") vs some of the fan comments (wah, it wasn't like Train to Busan. wah, too much about the people and not the zombies, not enough story, a coming of age movie, too many zombie schlongs, etc).

With the negative fan reviews, I guess it's not a film for everyone, but I loved every second in this world 28 years after the rage virus first showed up in London. Thank you Danny Boyle (and Alex Garland). I will definitely go see it again.

and now to finish Justified. Binged 6 seasons in about a month.

Finally getting around to Last of Us Season 2. Wow @ episode 2.

I am looking forward to seeing 28 Years. I am sick right now, though, so probably won’t get to the theater until next week. I did just watch that Astroworld documentary on Netflix. Lots of blame to go around there. Worth a watch if you only were aware of the particulars superficially.

Looking forward to 28 years on Sunday and F1 next week in iMax.

The Ohio State documentary on HBO is infuriating and sickening what those kids went through.

50th anniverday for Jaws. One of my favorite
Movies of all time

On a different note i’m watching the news in upstate new york. The newsperson just said “panhandlers, also known as beggars” while talking about a Troy law.

Just found that line very odd. Like no shit, a panhandler is known as a beggar.

Its the 50th anniversary of Jaws so I'm watching Jaws 2. Its really cool because its like a time capsule seeing the clothes/cars, and hearing the music.

I thought panhandlers are people living in the Florida Panhandle.

I think I'll wait for 28 Years to come on streaming, but F1 definitely deserves to be seen on the big screen.
