Landman is phenomenal imo

Great original concept. Outstanding casting and writing

I just don’t know how long it can go at this level

Lioness has the potential to be amazing. It just pulls me out when I see some of the operators operate. It pulls me out of it. They need to be training like Keanu and even Halle Berry did for John wick
I thought season 2 of Lioness was better than season 1 . That helps going forward . Having beautiful women in it also keep me tuned in LOL....

As far as Landman goes.....well....it is pretty entertaining and probably going to get even better with the drug cartel getting involved....for Billy Bob he makes it seem like any other day at his office ! Those two women though a bit out there ...but that is OK .

Carry-On on Netflix. Solid 8 out of 10. Never saw Jason Bateman in that type of role before.
I've got that on my list -- not sure where I heard about it (probably in connection with Taron). When I looked it up, it definitely looked interesting.

Finishing 11.22.63 miniseries.....now I understand why I completely blanked on seeing it.

I think it is on the current Netflix most watched list.

Such a bummer 28 Years Later doesn't come out until June. Seems like a very late-winter type of movie.

I cannot wait for this movie. I loved both 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. In fact, I just watched the horse scene in 28 Days Later since you mentioned Brian Eno in the music thread and "An Ascent" is the music playing in that scene.

Danny Boyle doesn't get the love of a Christopher Nolan or Dennis Villeneuve(sp?) or guys like Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Tim Burton, Quentin Tarrantino, etc., but you could put his films up there with any of the greats.

Boyle is one of my favorite directors. I really like a lot of his films: 28 Days Later, Shallow Grave, Trainspotting, Sunshine, Slumdog, 127 Hours, Yesterday, etc.

He does have a unique style imo and adds his own flair to movies for lack of a better description. His use of color, dream sequences, camera angles, inclusion of pop culture, etc. I've always said that Danny Boyle can make any movie better.

S2 was definitely better than S1. Better action for sure. The first episode of s2 set the tone.

As far as hotter women, you just knew the 2 Lionesses were going to end up in bed. Unfortunately this isn't the type of show to really exploit it. Ha.

As far as Landman goes, as I stated before, I worked in the industry. The drama is exaggerated and shot with steroids, but that's fine. Let's run with it.

Curious to see how they continue to introduce drama. Definitely with the cartel. More blowouts and deaths I guess. Maybe some drama with the price of oil going down or wells drying up. Maybe regulatory and clean-energy pressure. Maybe supply chain issues although that seems boring. Probably his daughter getting pregnant and who knows what else the son can go through.

Yeah, I can't really explain it. Picard wasn't my favorite by a long shot but I never liked Deep Space 9.
I understand how you feel about Deep Space 9. It had a totally different vibe than the other shows. I've wondered if its
because most of the action is at the Space Station -- which kind of conflicts with title "star trek". In a way, it did remind me a lot
of the soaps.

I saw Nosferatu this morning and enjoyed it. God bless W Dafoe. What a gift to cinema. I thought Depp was fantastic.

Latest episode of Landman: Oh boy. The Cartel will not be happy.

Just heard on News 12 something about a dispute between Optimum cable and MSG Networks?
Arent they both owned by Cablevision/Dolan or did that change at some point?

So now its possible I wont be able to watch the Rangers?

Awesome. Save me the stress.

Couldnt find the old Cable Wars thread so i felt this was the best place.

A full statment from Optimum is below:
MSG Networks is demanding exorbitant programming fees – which could raise our customers’ cable bills – and, to add insult to injury, MSG Networks is requiring us to make their channels available to the vast majority of Optimum video subscribers, which would force customers to pay for content they may not want to watch. We refuse to allow any entity to force our customers to pay more than they can afford. And with direct-to-consumer options like MSG+ available on the Gotham Sports app, customers who want to watch it have alternatives so that non-viewers don’t have to pay for content they don’t want.

Our mission is to give our customers the programming that they want for a price they can afford. That’s why Optimum is working day and night to reach a new agreement with MSG Networks to continue carrying their content on Optimum TV lineups that works for our customers and their budgets.

This “all or nothing” approach that MSG Networks has taken is anti-consumer, unsustainable, and aligns to a broken and outdated model that they are refusing to deviate from. Regional Sports Networks, such as MSG Networks, represent the most expensive content on television, and as viewership becomes increasingly fragmented across various services and platforms, programmers like MSG Networks are trying to squeeze customers for more money to watch their content.

At Optimum, we’re fans first: we love our local sports teams, and we’ll continue to fight on our customers’ behalf to keep costs down and bring them the programming that they want to watch, all at a fair price and value. We will always prioritize providing affordable, flexible options first and, in a world full of subscriptions, customers deserve to access the games they love without overpaying.

We urge MSG Networks to stop using scare tactics and instead engage in responsible, customer-friendly negotiations so that we can avoid any disruption in service.

Dolan sold Cablevision to Altice in 2016.

Definitely. He’s a favorite of mine since Shallow Grave. And Sunshine is way better than Interstellar, Nolan nerds.
