He could try gig. Food delivery, huge orders give great tips. The more experience the better shot at large orders. You work alone.

I have a friend who quit his home x-ray tech job and does Doordash full time. I told him he was crazy. He makes good consistent money in the Tampa area.

You gotta put yourself into it to keep your ratings high and be disciplined enough to be your own boss.
But its possible.

Only downside is you have to buy your own medical since no benefits. Customers will be jerks at least once or twice a day and if the economy tanks you will be hit hardest and first.

Its an option.

I did Uber eats for the first time ever on Saturday, I downloaded the app, go registered during mid week.
Turned the app on Saturday. Gotta say, its pretty fun. I saw one pop up for like $19 for only 5 miles trip and about 15 minutes, so I took it.
Turned out being 18 grocery bags at Shaws but well worth the $19 (they included the $15 tip in there)
I cant wait to use this during snowstorms.

I get asked for goals every year and I have learned to keep them simple, attainable and categorize them into buckets so they don’t look so overwhelming.

One bucket is for a goal or two addressing what areas I feel need improvement. Another bucket is on what can I do that will help me grow in my role. A third bucket is for things I can do to benefit the team and employees and the fourth bucket is for longer term goals like taking a class or attending a specific training etc.

Sometimes my goals get put on hold or only partially reached due to other things that come up that take precedence but that is always take. Into account at the end of the year.

I am very lucky to have found my professional “home”. It has its warts but since going out on our own, leadership has committed to being more realistic and open minded.

I hate annual reviews. I’ve had some real doozies over the years by people who should have never been managers or are just agents of chaos.

I like to think I'm good at what I do. But I have no desire to be a leader of people. Leave me in my cave and let me do my thing. We'll all be happier

I am the same way. I have never wanted to manage people. I’ll manage a process no problem but people, no thanks.

Anything Uber sounds like a good deal until you have 100k miles on your car in 2 years.

I used to work near the Uber lot at logan. There were full sizes Tahoes idling with the heat on waiting to get called, with RI plates. No way there are making that back. Especially if the algorithm send them to Southern NH. Whole thing is a scam to get contractors to destroy their personal vehicle for Ubers gain. If the drivers deducted $0.67 per mile from their pay and put it in a car replacement account I doubt many would come out ahead unless they were driving a well used Prius.

I used to love game shows, they were on all morning when I was a kid. I didn't know Chuck was the original Wheel of Fortune host. Back then the Dating Game and Newlywed Game were so much fun too.

My favourites used to be Joker's Wild, Hollywood Squares, Name that Tune and Match Game. There were so many though, lots that I can't remember the names of. Then there was the original "talent" show - The Gong Show.

Once in a great while, for a few laughs, I'll watch an old episode of Match Game, with Gene Rayburn, Charles Nelson Reilly and that whole zany gang. "Dumb Dora was so dumb..."

Not to mention the insurance. Personal auto insurance does not cover Uber/Lyft activity- doing that is considered taxi/livery for hire so a commercial auto policy is needed and yes it costs more $$$.

Even as a guy I was quite concerned when I felt a lump. Went for a mammogram a few months ago. I was shocked at how many guys can be affected. Luckily for me just a fatty lump. Will monitor from here on in.

Never a big fan of Uber/Lyft. When I was a younger I was taught to not let strangers into your car, or get into stranger's cars. Some real horror stories out there regarding these services.
