I used to love game shows, they were on all morning when I was a kid. I didn't know Chuck was the original Wheel of Fortune host. Back then the Dating Game and Newlywed Game were so much fun too.

My favourites used to be Joker's Wild, Hollywood Squares, Name that Tune and Match Game. There were so many though, lots that I can't remember the names of. Then there was the original "talent" show - The Gong Show.

I need to get this off of my chest (no, no pun intended) as I've been upset since I got the phone call from the hospital Friday afternoon- I recently had a mammogram and the results came back showing an "asymmetry" in the lower right breast. I have to go to the hospital December 3 for another mammogram which will focus on this area and also an ultrasound. Talk about coming out of nowhere. I do self exam regularly & I never felt or saw anything out of the ordinary. :(

Best wishes Betsy. Always better to get it checked out asap.
Even as a guy I was quite concerned when I felt a lump. Went for a mammogram a few months ago. I was shocked at how many guys can be affected. Luckily for me just a fatty lump. Will monitor from here on in.

Good luck!

Sending good thoughts Bets that it’s nothing. It’s good you keep on top of this stuff.

I went through the same process when mine was diagnosed at “Stage 0”.

Best to be safe, hopefully it is nothing. I am glad your appt is soon but I know the wait will seem like forever. Sending positive vibes that all will be well.

Good luck. It is probably nothing too bad, but checking is important.

Best to get checked @BMC all of you older people on here. And thats not an insult most of you are older than me. My parents are constantly at the doctors.

You are right. You need to get that off your chest.

You got this

Lots of good vibes coming your way. Hopefully it is nothing. The waiting game is the toughest part. I had my first mammogram 2 years ago and they found asymmetry in my left breast. I had to go back two weeks later and the wait was excruciating. I went through so many emotions waiting for my appointment. Luckily, it was just a blob of scar tissue that was breaking down.

You’ve got this! Reach out if you need to vent etc. Hugs!

Thank all of you so much

I'm still stunned & scared but having your support makes it easier. You guys & gals are the best!

I remember all those shows. Before I switched to satellite I had the Game Show Network and they ran all of them. I loved Hollywood Squares, the stars especially Paul Lynde were hilariously funny.

The Gong Show was must see tv on Saturday night after Sha Na Na.

Imagine your boss spending an entire meeting with the leadership team, spending time talking about "they why" behind what we do?

Imagine at the end of said meeting, they communicate that everyone in the room needs to provide them with 2-3 professional goals in advance, to be presented to the team at the following Monday's meeting?

Imagine at said meeting, 5/6 "leaders" have failed to deliver on what was requested?

Is this in the education field?

Last time I was asked that was 2019.

I wrote “I aspire to retire”.

For real.

Did the trick. 6 months later I got a full 18 month package.

You know who also loved that show? My grandmother! :biglaugh:

Of course like many people her age her absolute favorite was "The Lawrence Welk Show" which I sat through many a Sunday evening when I was staying with her.
My parents absolutely loved Lawrence Welk and still watched reruns on PBS for the rest of their lives.

I may just be a cynical pragmatist, but I always absolutely hated when any group, job, etc. I've been in has had to spend any time prattling on about the mission statement. It's wasting time we could be working trying to come up with some abstract reasoning as to why the organization works.

it has to be really crispy and crunchy for me or its vomit city
Thanks for the image.

Did that last year around the Columbus Day weekend, quick Saturday-Monday in SLC. Didn't venture out to any of the nature stuff but SLC itself was one of the cleanest, chillest cities I've been to. Would definitely go back (hell, I'd consider moving there, but the family won't go for it).
You know, in Utah, there's a solution for that.

That's the best part. I don't know how to process this.
Sit down a spell.

Breath.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Enjoy doing your dishes on Thanksgiving.

I was born on Thanksgiving, 28th November 1963. As noted previously, JFK has left the planet 6 days prior, and Ruby had, uhm, silenced Oswald a few days later.

True not apocryphal:

My father and my Uncle Jerry were taking in a Red wings game at the old Olympia that evening.

Gordie had scored twice.

The joke is that had Mr. Hockey scored another (alas and alack, he failed to do so), my name would have been Hat Trick.

More for the rest of us!

I think everyone has a Thanksgiving side they don’t like. For me it’s that ubiquitous green bean casserole that everyone serves. I’ve never liked it.
I like cranberry juice, especially with ice and soda water, but not a fan of cranberry sauce or the admixture of sweet (okay, in this case tart) & savory.

Not a sweets person.

Savory and umami all the way!

I inherited my parents' vinyl album collection and I'm certain there is at least one Lawrence Welk album in there, probably more. They used to watch his show all the time too.

The whole Thanksgiving menu is unappealing

My least liked holiday. Pilgrims and the worst field trip ever to look at a rock

Cmon maaaaan!!!
I enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. We have a big family - four girls, four boys, and now great-grandchildren.

From the beginning of September through 1 January, glorious New England autumn (the most fabulous in recent memory this season) in its entirety, many family birthdays, and much nostalgia.

Pretty much the only time of year I have turkey.

I prefer duck.

But hey, pilgrims and cornucopia aside, Thanksgiving is about just that: appreciation and gratitude for all we have.

Cultivate year-round,

♥️ 🌹

Seems like often people are put into leadership positions without actually having any leadership skills. I've seen it where I work, for sure. Frustrating.

Not a big game show enthusiast.

Even so, I enjoyed Hollywood Squares, To Tell the Truth, What's My Line, and Match Game, which could be somewhat naughty on occasion.

Before my time, but I've seen the tape,

That’s, unfortunately, normal. In most industries people get promoted because they’re strong individual contributors. Doesn’t mean they have a lick of management or leadership skills.

Unrelated, wishing the best for you, @BMC
