Moving day. What a day.

Great weather. Big group from church, nine people, plus my brother, niece and nephew drove down from Ohio.

Rented a 15 foot Uhaul, couldn't get a bigger truck because the wires connecting to the back of the house are very low. As it was, it cleared with about 3 inches. Plus it helps to have a guy who used to drive semis for UPS. He was my load master

Living in Tennessee means four of the guys who came brought their big pickup trucks and loaded most of the furniture on those. We had quite the convoy driving to the new place lol.

Started loading the trucks around 8:15, they had everything to the new place, unloaded, and furniture reassembled by 12:30 or so. They were better than any moving company I've ever hired.

My friend who helped me yesterday stayed all day and helped me get my kitchen set up. It's still a work in progress and I'm going to have to buy some sort of stand alone pantry cabinet, but for the time being it's workable.

Over 14,000 steps today. I am zonked.

If you hear anything about the tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area tonight know that they have been warned.

Lots of misinformation being spewed by weather wannabe’s on social media.

They are spinning up incredibly fast and are rain wrapped. We are getting a ton of rain with the storms that is also causing major flooding.

The sirens have gone off here but they’ve stayed west of us.

I’m ready to go into the stairwell if need be.

I had to go into the stairwell but we are ok. The wind was howling through the stairwell. Not sure where in Norman it went. The warning and sirens went off quickly. We did have power flicker. I just want to sleep but we can’t just yet.
Wow, that is stressful. I hope you get some sleep - "extra" hour today at least.

Sounds like you had quite a crew! So lucky!
All the best in your new home.

Is this unusual for this time of the year?
They do have a second tornado season but an outbreak like this is very unusual because there is no cold front.

We went from having 3-4 days of heavy rain to 3-4 days of severe weather. We’ve had about 3” of rain in 24 hours and they expect at least up to 10 more in the next 2 days.

At least today and tomorrow’s severe weather will be during the day.

Today was clean the old apartment day.

Blleeerrrrggggghhhhhh. Next time I'm paying somebody to do that nonsense. Last thing I felt like doing today was deep cleaning. On the bright side I guess I've burned a ton of calories this weekend

Talked to my duplex neighbor for a while this morning. I think we're going to get along great. We're both "no drama" types. She said she was nervous when she was told I have a dog, but they met this morning and it was love at first sight. That's a relief for me too lol. Nothing worse than being anxious that your neighbors will be upset every time the dog barks.

Her Royal Hattie-ness has already staked out her favorite spot by the window where she can watch the deer and the squirrels all day.

I sent Hattie's technical current owner a picture of her in the new place. She said we can talk more but she thinks the best thing is for Hattie to stay with me permanently because she seems so happy.

Y'all, I am a total emotional wreck this weekend. With all the people I had helping me, my brother and his kids driving down, finally getting out of apartment living, moving into a house in a nice quiet neighborhood, and now Hattie going to be mine permanently, I'm just sitting here crying lol

Tension shower rods are for the birds. Don't know if the landlord will let me drill mount one. I'd like to get one that curves out a bit so I'm not constantly wrestling with the shower liner. I had a nice wide garden tub in the apartment and this one is making me claustrophobic lol

Curved shower rods are the best. I will never go back to a straight rod

Never been to Jackson Hole, but I've been to Bismarck, ND if that helps.

They definitely have cold weather......

In all seriousness though, Yellowstone in the winter is definitely worth checking out. Way less crowds.

Been a few times, it's beautiful but it's also expensive as f***, especially in ski season. I'd suggest taking a look at West Yellowstone also, it's the west gate to Yellowstone National Park. It has the same mountain town charm, shops, restaurants, etc. You can also easily get to Yellowstone, the Tetons and Jackson Hole from it and for flights you can go through Bozeman.
