I am loving Bluesky - for those of you that don't know much about it, you can actually choose feeds for specific subjects like music, books, news, astronomy, even dogs and cats! Just about any subject you are interested in. Your own feed just has your own stuff and the people you follow, no ads and you can block if someone trolls you. They will have growing pains because they are growing a million users a day right now.

You can also have a feed of the people you follow without re-posts. There are a lot of options, I discover more each day.

Most of the Bruins writers I follow are now on Bluesky as well, they are not leaving "X" at this point but adding the platform. The biggest issue is getting everyone re-connected but it is getting there.

I joined Twitter for the Bruins and have connections with fans around the world, I didn't join it for what has happened to it. It is frustrating when all you want is to follow what you are interested in. Bluesky is what Twitter used to be like, only better because of how you can customize it.
I joined but don't yet know much about how things work there.

Stopped at Taco Bell for lunch and their cup transported me back 30 years

The decision to put my almost 15 year old dog, Muffin down (i hate that wording).

I don't want her in pain or to be suffering unbeknownst to us. I love her so much. She has saved my life more times than I can count. She loves her siblings. She loves her family. She loves the kids so much. She is a lover. I don't want her to waste away. She won't eat. She's lost so much weight. She drinks but she just wants to sleep. And my dog is active. This isn't like her. I know she's old. And I'm greatful for almost 15 years. But I swear she looks at me letting me know it's okay.

Please hug and kiss your pets. Try to be kind to eachother. I'll be taking a break from the board.

Have my thoughts about the Bluesky migration but doubt those opinions are allowed here.
We have probably heard it all anyway on Twitter. It is deeply divided like everything else these days.

It is obvious to me what is happening but seeing no ads is a big plus on its own. Add the privacy issues with Grok collecting your info from your posts beginning very soon (you have to opt out, not sure how many know this), not being able to block people, which went into effect last week, it is a disturbing place.

All fair, just have never been a fan of being places that echo only what I say or think, but it’s a free market and to each their own. I also don’t have any social media so maybe I’m not a great person to speak about it. Just my friends here and on Discord.

Echo Chamber is just that. You surround yourself with people that do nothing but agree with you it turns you into a ill informed person

I do understand that. Since the world is so divided, it works out great, people can go wherever they like, as you said.

I didn't realize you had signed up. Seems that people are ill informed because of the fake news out there, get their news from Twitter which has been pushing extreme views. There is so much of that on Twitter, it is ridiculous. If you don't believe Musk had anything to do with that, I just don't know what to say.

Edit: Sorry Wally, I posted before I saw your warning, delete if necessary of course.

Sorry to hear this, going through the same thing with my cat. It's hard to lose something so loving and loyal. We had our time and we'll always have our memories.

So sorry to hear the news. We put down our dog Mickey a year ago last July. He showed up on our back deck as a stray, no one claimed him, so we adopted him. And he was with us for 15 years.

The last week or so was awful. He ate and drank very little and was lethargic. It was a relatively easy decision to put him down. The last two days were very sad. Fortunately our youngest was able to come up from DC and spend some time with him.

The actual event at the vet was quite peaceful. It was his time.

God bless.
