Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) Discussion.

I have a bit of an obsession with big RD. I witnessed the Byfuglien phenomenon here in Winnipeg and it changed the way I thought about hockey.

It seems like every team needs more big RD, and this franchise has been a perfect example.

I'm Kesselring's biggest fan. I'm ready to become Lamoureux's biggest fan. I think that after Lamoureux, Lavoie is our best D prospect. Even with this impressive group, I'd love to see Bill draft Mrtka - though I think he'll be picked way before Bill gets a chance.

This irrational part of me wants to see Durzi traded to make room for Lamoureux, but Durzi is obviously one of our best and most important players.

Anyways that's my late night confession for today.

I’m with you on that. I don’t think they need overwhelming size, but being a big hitting shutdown type with a right hand shot on the right side is an incredibly important player to have. That’s why my favorite Bolts player is Erik Cernak.

How has Mav looked since going back to Tuscon? Sharks need Defense and our board has looked at Kesselring/Durzi as two potential targets for trades. My read is Utah is unlikely to move anyone on the roster right now but curious if there is a scenario where anyone could see one of Kesselring/Durzi moved in order to bring up Mav. Sharks would only really offer futures which I don't see as a value add to BAs plan.

What would the offer be for Durzi? There might be an oppurtunity for a deal closer to next TDL or more likely the one after that.

No clue, just trying to gauge interest as the Sharks desperately need bodies that can play hockey haha. My sense as a Utah fan 2nd is that there is no real reason to move anyone at this point except to make room for someone like Mav

yeah, pretty sure they only have to win 1 out the remaining 4 to secure a playoff birth, albeit, the 7th seed

Scratch that...looks like they have tiebreaker and are up 3 with 4 to play (Bakersfield has 5 games remaining), so basically any combination of 3 games (6pts) (wins or Bakersfield losses) gets them into the playoffs.

My expectations for Matikka, Lipkin and Lutz might have been unrealistic, but they fell way short in their rookie season.

Would be cool if they would play a big part in pushing the team into the playoffs and maybe even causing an upset in round 1. That would help me look past the regular season disappointment. This too is unrealistic, but I can hope.

I'm with you...I thought for sure that Matikka was going to light up the AHL, 40+ pts, and he could barely scratch out an assist. Lutz was another one I figured would at least be a 30+ pt player and nope.

They needed a win tonight to clinch a playoff spot. They lost 3-2 to Colorado.

Got one more chance tomorrow. A win they're in. A regulation or overtime loss means San Diego would also have to lose.

They're tied on points but Tucson has the tiebreakers.

Szuber has really finished the season strong just going off stats. I'm hoping he can start getting some more NHL games in next season when he'll be 23.

well Tucson is now tied with Bakersfield for the last playoff spot. They own the tiebreaker so with just 1 game remaining, all they have to do is hope for a Bakersfield loss or they have to win or tie Bakersfield with a loser point loss

Either way, they're certainly backing their way into the playoffs, down the stretch they've been atrocious

Canucks fan here in peace. Congratulations on making the playoffs. I'd wish you luck, but I'd like to see the Abby Canucks make a deep playoff run.

I'm wondering if any of you know the expected Roadrunners lines for Game 1 of the playoffs? I checked your team's Twitter feed and didn't see any line-ups posted. No worries if you don't have them, I'll make due for our GDTs either way.
