89 shots over two games. The Roadrunners brought their A game IMO, but we got out goalied. Doan was very visible and making stuff happen. Geekie showed promise. And I'll say it again, best of 3 has no place in professional playoff hockey.

Best of 3 is stupid for hockey. Even the ECHL plays best of 7 every round.
reason is the AHL league-wide is unbalanced and the League doesn't want to fix the imbalance... hence why you're seeing best of 3.... ECHL has one less round and goes into that directly....except the North had to go by points% due to Newfoundland collapsing/terminated w/ 6 games.... the AHL has been imbalanced likely since 2014/15... when the Pacific was created and then the RS was 68 instead of 76... which was then cut to 72, which is what the ECHL plays... I can remember an 80 game AHL RS....

The first of likely more friction to come between the big club and the Jr run club.

Roadrunners announced today they’ll be playing a minimum of 30 home games in Tucson.

They’ll play 6 at Mullet (3 B2B) now instead of the 5 they were originally allowed under their lease. The lease is also extended another year (there were 2 left). EDIT: Additional year is not for sure yet but it was confirmed the Meruelos did make the offer.

Utah did not like the 14-game proposal.

Nutshell….. gets around all the “hurdles” Craig Morgan referred to early on.

No AHL approval needed. Getting OVG/ASU approval, etc.
