At one point the server gave us the remote and my friend tried every channel they had and no luck.Boston Pizza (and all the other places you visited) should presumably have SN+ Premium to get all out of market games. If they were hit with a regional blackout on that channel, then they'd likely be showing up Ottawa based and have it available via TSN 5, no?
Thanks, that is weird.Yeah if you hover over your link it has 'ottawSenators.com' as the domain
Or switch the expressvu to downstairs.I get the Sens on TSN5 on Expressvu upstairs without issue. When I go downstairs and run the Bell Fibe app on my Firestick or Apple TV, the games are blacked out. The Bell Fibe app on my phone will stream the games no problem. Weird!
If I want to watch the games downstairs, I have to mirror from my phone through the Apple TV box.
I think you'd need a separate coax connection to the dish or else you'd just be able to watch on one tv at a time.Or switch the expressvu to downstairs.
If I hadn’t thrown out my expressvu boxes, I would of gave you one.

Do you remember the receivers with the pin card you needed to insert in the front? For the switch no, if I gave poster an additional one Ya,
I had 4 on my dish.
OK, so I've been looking to find time to try to get this sorted out. I put a detailed description of my problem into an AI engine and here's the answer I getSo are you on bell Fibe then,?
you’re in Ottawa local region I take from other posts.
Why are you using the TSN app on new 4K TV, when earlier you said you have cable on old TV (with Bell streamer)
Why aren’t you using the cable on new TV, as opposed to TV app.
A lot of smart TV apps suck, especially non high end ones. I’ve seen Netflix crash for people on smart TV app and have to restart a lot.
Had them switch to Roku or Firestick, and problem went away.
Sounds like TV app.
You can try accessing bell through the web browser on your Samsung, tv.bell.ca, it's a shit workaround but might work for youOK, so I've been looking to find time to try to get this sorted out. I put a detailed description of my problem into an AI engine and here's the answer I get
It sounds frustrating not being able to get the Bell Fibe TV app on your Samsung Smart TV! Unfortunately, the Bell Fibe TV app is not natively available on Samsung TVs. However there are a few workarounds you can try:
1. **Use a Streaming Device**: You can use devices like the **Amazon Fire Stick**, **Google Chromecast**, or **Apple TV** to install the Bell Fibe TV app
2. **Bell Streamer**: Bell offers a device called the **Bell Streamer**, which connects to your TV and allows you to access the Fibe TV app along with other streaming services
So I vaguely remember all of this from about a year ago - basically AI is telling me somethingthe bell tech support told me shortly afteri bought the tv. . It wasn't a big deal then because we basically only watch streaming services i.e netflix, prime and that works fine. . I was able to use various free streaming services to watch nhl hockey on the smart TV or go in the basement and I have a bell streamer device on the old TV.
Fast forward to this hockey season, my free nhl streaming is shut down so I get the tsn app. 10 bucks a month. Sporadically, the app tells me that tsn 5 is blacked out in my area but if I go in the basement I watch fibe TV thru a bell streamer where tsn is a "TV channel" so it's all good.
There are 2 problems here
1. Why tf doesn't the Bell fibe app load on a Samsung TV? That's nuts considering the market share of Samsung in the TV space.
2. Why does the TSN app think I am not in the ottawa region?
Bottom line I shouldn't have to go spend another 50 or 60 bucks to buy a streamer device because their technology is f$$ked up.
@Micklebot the next time I have the issue, I will check to see if it works on my tablet. I had no problem watching the Detroit game the other night
Did you try on a browser; What is my IP address; What location does it say?OK, so I've been looking to find time to try to get this sorted out. I put a detailed description of my problem into an AI engine and here's the answer I get

A friend who owns a high end video/ audio store, told me avoid built in TV apps, they suck, and have very little updates. He said some high end TV ones are ok, $3000+, but better off avoiding them he told me, so you’re better off with a firestick/ Roku stick.OK, so I've been looking to find time to try to get this sorted out. This is my experience, I don't use any of the smart TV apps even on high end displays. Nvidia Shield and Firestick 4K Max I have and recommend. I hooked up a Roku Premiere last year that I had around and Sportsnet Now was not available as an app on it. Maybe not relevant with TSN available and the discussion in this thread, but worth mentioning. Found lots of reddit comments confirming its not available on any Roku's.A friend who owns a high end video/ audio store, told me avoid built in TV apps, they suck, and have very little updates. Yep agree, the recommendation should always be to avoid built in TV apps imo. This is my experience, I don't use any of the smart TV apps even on high end displays. Also a nightmare if you have a stereo system. I prefer it routed through my AVR's and not have to rely on HDMI CEC arc. It is the devil lol.Yep agree, the recommendation should always be to avoid built in TV apps imo.
Yeah that’s the thing. I don’t mind paying but the convenience/quality is actually better through other means.I like how we have to go through all this trouble to legally watch games using a service we pay for…
I know there’s out of market streaming restrictions but I’m in Mexico now and have Bell Fibe and of course I can’t watch the recent games either live or recorded on their app. Still pretty dumb that they restrict WHERE you can watch the content you actually pay for.
I never really had the need to before, but after a very simple google search that Google pretty much autocompleted for me and clicking on the first link that shows up, I managed to stream the Minnesota game using shitty hotel wifi. The image quality was actually better and more fluid than when I’m on my own wifi at home watching on the same iPad but using the Bell Fibe app.
Mendes talks about the issue and how to get a resolution on CiH today, apparently calling up TSN to get your IP whitelisted
Doesn't seem to make sense to me given those like @JD1 who only have the issue on certain devices, but that's what he said
About 38 mins inRoughly how far in is that? I'd like to give it a listen
Hasn't happened in a while though to me. I was starting to think they came to their senses and realized if you pay for the channel you get to watch it, regardless of where in canada you are
I checked this site... I figured for sure this was my issue but nope....I'm listed as being in the east end of ottawaI reported my intermittent issue to @TSNHelp on X. You can't DM them unless they follow you. They responded and followed and we had a DM back and forth .. They asked me to check what came back as a location from Whatismyipaddress.com.
I was looking into it again because of a recent blackout. I had checked that site and they reported it as Toronto. This is very likely because my ip provider is affiliated with Bell and uses Distributel which is located in Toronto. The Whatismyipaddress.com site allows you to update your location.. The site presented the 1st option as Toronto and the 2nd option as the correct location. Using their interface I indicated that the 2nd option was correct. Since then ( over 2 days ) I checked that site and it reported by location correctly.
I told them that I had just changed it and it is now being reported correctly. They seemed good with that.. and told me to let them know if I continued to have issues.
They asked me if I used a VPN and I told them I tried it with and without a VPN set to a Sens viewing region and it did not help.
Bottom line here is this is a way to contact them and get some help.
I guess we shall see how it goes tonight.
I just tried mine and was told my IP address is in Dorval Quebec. I am in Ottawa (Blackburn Hamlet) on Bell Fibe.I checked this site... I figured for sure this was my issue but nope....I'm listed as being in the east end of ottawa
It hasn't happened to me in a while, a month maybe.
Noted on the way to contact them
