Any chance he makes the big club or gets a quick call up?

He’s competing for the 7D spot right now, though I’m sure he will lose to TVR and Fleury.

A trade or injury and he’ll be competing with Fora and McKeown for next callup. He may have an advantage over those two since we will likely have 3 LHD and 4 RHD on the roster and he’s probably our 4th LHD after Fleury.

he's cheaper to keep on an NHL roster ($650,000 vs. $832,500) and also better than fleury

who says he's going to CLT? source?

i'd rather have him on the team than fleury. fleury shouldn't be handed a spot because he was a 7th overall pick.

This guy has not played as well as Fleury. He had one game where he shot a lot of pucks and that was it. He has literally done. Nothing else. What am I missing here?

what has fleury done his entire career other than skate fast, make questionable decisions, and constantly pinch down low and then do nothing with the puck?

he's like pitkanen but with 1/20th the talent. time to move on.

What do you guys think about dressing 7 d-men most nights like we did most of 2005-06? Faulk could be used in a specialty role and it won't bother anyone to scratch Martinook or McGinn on most nights.
No way. Why do this when we are having trouble deciding which of the excellent forwards we might need to cut and send to Charlotte?

they only did that for 5 of 25 playoff games.

the only reason it was done so often in the regular season is because they had very little offensive ability from their defense and were using hutchinson as a 7d/powerplay specialist. by the time the playoffs rolled around they realized that hutchinson really wasn't any real upgrade on the powerplay and were using 4forwards 1defenseman on each unit with hedican (lol) being one of those defenseman instead of screwing the forward rotation up to dress a 7th defenseman.

tverdovsky was the 7th defenseman in the playoffs and only dressed once in the final two rounds, in game 2 of the SCF when wesley was a game-time decision and they needed an extra D in case he got hurt.
