If he is so valuable to the Ducks the only legit top line forward as someone suggested, isn’t he in line to ask for more money? I mean what would the ducks do lose their best forward?

8x8 is the going rate for a top notch young forward. Guys with better stats than Terry have taken this deal (to be sure Terry’s numbers are suppressed by the team he’s on). I think Terry might not even get to the 8 in the AAV. Was thinking more like 7.5-7.75.

But if he threatens to walk ducks are in deep trouble so it’s a situation of pay up or else which isn’t stated in those terms but the ducks still desperately need him.

There’s nothing to indicate this is even remotely a possibility. Just because it can’t be ruled out doesn’t mean we should spend effort contemplating it.

Then Jets still have Connor Ehlers and it would be a set back but Jets would still be respectable for a while. Jets fans have probably thought about it with pld and what would we have to overpay to keep him.

Minten is a very good prospect as well at both ends of the rink. The 2023 1st is also a good piece.

Unless someone offers up a blue chip prospect + 1st I doubt the package is much better then what I posted. When I say blue chip I'm talking a nemec from Jersey or similar value prospect from another team.

I don’t think they’d want to move Terry for prospects/picks. They’d want to do a “hockey trade”.

That's fair, I guess it all depends where your GM views the team on its rebuild timeline.

If it's a fit issue due to needs that's fine, but almost every package for a top line player from a rebuilding team is 4 Quarters for a dollar type of trade.

That's fair, I guess it all depends where your GM views the team on its rebuild timeline.

The blackhawks are the only pro sports team that I can think of where a 25 year old is too old for your rebuild.

The ole 15 year rebuild plan is not one most are interested in, I imagine.
