supposing Pat Verbeek assesses the Ducks as being not as far along on their rebuild trajectory as he anticipated & decides to take calls on Troy Terry (upcoming RFA with arbitration rights), what would you offer to add him to your team?

yes, I realize more than likely he’ll be extended to a long-term contract and probably even named the next captain. but for the sake of the thought experiment let’s see how other teams value him!

Colorado got it in Newhook and a 1st but Colorado will don't do that
lol Ducks laugh at that offer pretty easily

If they could expand the deal to get Henrique as well (with other pieces moving naturally), I could see that actually being something they could take a look at.
there's no deal to be had if that's the basis for Terry lol

You guys don't want to know the price. He is the best player on the Ducks and their only legit top line forward right now (obviously Z and McT will be there soon).

Newhook and 1st isn't even close enough for me to consider it. Seriously, its really far off what it would take.

He is only 25. He is perfect for their to build around and will get locked up longterm through his age 33 season. perfect.

I'd happily take him on the Flames but would be shocked if he was traded

if Verbeek loses Terry, probably time to send ole pat back to detriot with stevie y.

Seriously. It would have to be so much of an overpayment to not be a terrible move.

Even if it was a 1 for 1 hockey trade, long-term he is the exact type of player the Ducks need. Short-term they could trade him for a top pairing defensemen, but the Ducks are loaded on the backend long-term. Noone would trade a #1 center for a top line winger, but even if they did Terry is probably more of a need considering the Ducks have Z and McTavish along with probably one of the top 3 guys in the 2023 draft at center.

Its just not even fathomable unless Terry pulls a Tkachuk.

Oh, 1000% I do not think that package returns Terry. However, if that was the cost I'd hope the Avs were all over it. I really doubt the Ducks would move Terry unless it was for a better player, or a massive package of assets.

I doubt he is available in a quality for quantity trade.
Unless someone offers up a blue chip prospect + 1st I doubt the package is much better then what I posted. When I say blue chip I'm talking a nemec from Jersey or similar value prospect from another team.

If he is so valuable to the Ducks the only legit top line forward as someone suggested, isn’t he in line to ask for more money? I mean what would the ducks do lose their best forward?
