Trying not to be encouraged but that goal was the exact reason March and Stammer were signed. It woul be more effective if they had a center to e plays. The pass creating the open net is how those two have made a living in the league.

The change with that play is that Stamkos is now the center and he drove the goalie to his left and made the play back to Marchessault. Earlier in the year, both Stamkos and Marchy would be waiting for someone to give them the puck on their tape and our brilliant coach kept changing the center every other shift. Like March said, he had no idea who he was playing with from one second to the next.

The current configuration does come at a cost. Forsberg is the defensively responsible forward (as can be seen in the replay) and seems to no longer be in the scoring mix (0 goals this month). I think that is a great misuse of resources, since Fil is a gifted scorer. But I suppose it was too much to ask to try someone like Parssinen in that role.
