Going to need a new coach in Anaheim. Cronin has already neutered Zellweger and Mintyukov.
That’s by far what I’d rather see at this stage. Defense is a lot more likely to improve than offenseOffensively
Mintyukov's OZs% is only 0.3% higher then Gudas, an absolute defensive defenceman. That sort of deployment is completely ridiculous, talk about not giving a young player any sort of chance and then being shocked when he's not tearing it up on the ice....I think Cronin's okay for young defensemen. Zellweger and Minty are deployed differently. Zell is sheltered as an OFD with a 59.1% OZ start, which is a team high for all Ducks. Minty has a 38.6% OZ Start, with Gudas having the lowest OZ Start% among d-men with 38.3%. Zellweger's offense hasn't been neutered this season, but Minty's offense has taken a backseat due to the priority of defensive development (see OZ Start%).
Although, the rotation shit doesn't let Zell, Minty, nor Helleson get into their groove is all Verbeek. LaCombe playing consistently has helped his growth this season after Fowler was traded.

For the record, I was not involved.Going to need a new coach in Anaheim. Cronin has already neutered Zellweger and Mintyukov.
The weird thing is that the last time I checked he wasn't quite a PPG for the season. That means the first half was rough for the guy. I wonder what has changed for them?27 points in his last 16 games is insane for a dman.
I wouldn't say 10 points in his first 22 games as a rookie 20 year old dman is "rough". It's still pretty good. He's just going insane now.The weird thing is that the last time I checked he wasn't quite a PPG for the season. That means the first half was rough for the guy. I wonder what has changed for them?
That's fair and good perspective. That being said, IIRC wasn't Drysdale a PPG as an 18 year old? For a guy who we'd expect offense from a .5 ppg is a bit disappointing. Still a drastic difference.I wouldn't say 10 points in his first 22 games as a rookie 20 year old dman is "rough". It's still pretty good. He's just going insane now.

My vote would be Gudas but that won’t happen so Helleson can sit.Who sits?
Call him up for a few games.
