No, ridiculous. Georgiev is awful but his cap hit is 3.4 million and he's a UFA this year. Jarry is on 5.375 million until 2028. Terrible contract, and the Avs can't afford boat anchor contracts given how bad the cap situation is.

Both goalies need a change of scenery. Avs may need to add a pick.

???????? Why do the AVS need to add shit? Their guy is on less money and his contract is up. Jarry is signed for 5.75 for 3 seasons after this one. Pens are adding alot. Everytime there is talk of oiler moving a 5 to 6 mill contract--the sugar is usually a 1st per extra year

Unloading Jarry without taking another bad contract back with AT least two seasons on it will cost the Pens. Avalanche shouldn't risk making a 4 year commitment to Jarry when they could look at Gibson Merzlikins Grubauer for 3 years or Blackwood for 1 year.

Why not put Georgiev on waivers and then trade him and a first to a team for futures?

Avs come out way ahead.
Unless I'm missing something, "a first" is the futures. How are they coming out ahead?

Also, no way half a year left on an expiring 3 mil contract for a somewhat serviceable player costs 1st to get rid off. That's just crazy talk. Unless, again, I misunderstood what you are saying.

Pens are not getting rid of Jarry for any expiring contract unless we attach a 1st.

Our 1st this year is going to be worth a lot more than Jarry's deal.

He likely rebounds to 15-20th best goalie on another team that has defenders in front of him.

That said, dude needs to go.

The Avs 2025 1st belongs to Philadelphia, and it has top 10 protection so could end up deferred to 2026 (however unlikely) so they can't trade that 2026 pick until the off-season... unless they could trade the 2027 1st with the condition that it becomes the 2026 1st if/when the 2026 pick is allowed to be traded again. Point being any trades involving an Avs 1st right now seem quite unrealistic.

Are you drunk? High? Both?

Why would the Avs need to add? Geo’s contract is expiring this season.

The lack of awareness and common sense witb some posters is surprising. You basically admit you know absolutely nothing about hockey, the cap or player value with posts like this.
