Ok so lets say Brodeur was named the head coach for team Canada (huge if, just stay with me) and they won the WHC does that mean hes a member of the triple gold club even though he won the WHC as coach.
I thought the rule is you have to have won the Stanley cup, WHC and the Olympics. I only used Brodeur as an example since he was the only guy i could think of who would fit these criteria.

Coaching counts, so yes, Brodeur would be a member.
Wait?
People care about the WHC?
Wouldn't it mean more with the World Cup/Canada Cup?
WHC isn't exactly hockey played at its highest level.
And those are gimmick tourneys. At least the WC is. Not sure what your point is.

How is World Cup a gimmick?
It's a legitimate best-on-best tournament.
WHC is a consolation/developmental tournament where a handful of NHLers go if they feel like it.
:/
The triple gold club is cool, but it is kind of strange since their are 2 trophies that are far above the 3rd one in the group.

I agree with you, I also don't like that players not from one of hockey's great powers have little chance to join it no matter how great they play, as they likely will never win the Olympics.
The ASG is also best on best. Doesn't make it any less gimmicky. How is World Cup a gimmick?
